somebody got to the swap before I did! noo!

Man, I went to the junkyard yesterday, I havent been there all winter, and I found the teg that I was gonna take the b18 out of...somebody else already got it. This sucks, now im back to square one.

there are two other tegs out there, both auto. Plus i'm pretty sure they are both 89 models. arent those basically ZC's or are they b18's as well? And where do you look for the engine code again? I know its stamped somewhere on the block, but I cant find it.

and when it comes to an engine in an auto, what can I not use? obviously the trans and ECU wont work, but what else?

and does anyone know if the rear disc brakes from an 89 will bolt up to a 90 civic?

you should be so lucky...im hard pressed to find any import anywhere around this area, when i ask the 50 junkyards i called they just go "uhh we don't have imports here. I need to get someone that goes to the yards often and have them look for an engine for me...

define "hookup" on ZCs. how good of a price? not stolen stuff, i assume. Might be interested, but I really want a b18, a much better platform to build on.

but does anyone know about 89 tegra rear brakes? will they bolt up to 90 hatch?

Well, I've known this one Canadian boy for YEARS. He can get good prices, not stolen.

On the brake question: Yes.

I have integra rear disc brakes for my 89 CRX-Si.

me from another forum (im the top geekz0r)
the geekz0r (11:03:46 PM): basicly, look at it this way...the 6speed is the same is the 5speed in 2,3,4,5,and 6...only the speeds are different because of the fd
the geekz0r (11:04:16 PM): so 2nd pulls like 1st in the 5speed, 3rd is like 2nd, etc.
PortugeeTex (11:04:26 PM): so whats 1st like then?
the geekz0r (11:04:49 PM): 1st is like hitting a cheeta in the ass with a tazer
PortugeeTex (11:04:53 PM): lmfao

look for displacement? you mean to tell a b18 from a ZC? well, yeah thatll prolly work, zc are 1.6 and b18 are 1.8, but again that leads me to my original question: where do you read this?
