body kit... or in-car-video??
man this sound pretty stupid of me, but i can't make up my mind, put on my kit, or in car video.
![]() i got the body kit and all but its not installed or painted, so i can get that installed, or i can go all out on video since i got pretty nice sound and the idea of playing playstation two during the 2 hour gaps between courses would be kinda nice. ![]() oh yeah, and that post "lcd placement ??? ", i'd go for the gooseneck floor mount. ![]() |

So you're saying that it'll cost you the same to put on the kit as to buy a PS2 with LCD?

he has the money to do one or the other but not both. My guess is he has enough money to do the ps2 (more costly) and the body kit is cheaper. But he doesn't have enough money for both. |

Well, I dunno, if you don't like the fiberglass kit, why don't you just sell it, and then do the video? Makes sense to me since you said you regret buying fiberglass. For body work and anything big, you do it once and you do it right.

to crack polyurethane you really need to try hard.. but if you do manage to damage it.. its quiet hard to fix..

go for the body kit. paint it first, then install. I think in car video is a waste of money that can be spent on other things...performance maybe?

Install the video game system and then when you have enough money just take it to the shop and tell them you want it painted and put on...then sit in your can and play your newly installed PS2! DUH!!! LOL

I know you have money for one or the other...but how much would each cost you, maybe that could help make the decision.

Save some cash, sell the fiberglass body kit, and buy a polyuerethane... look better, last longer, tough to break, etc... I hate fiberglass kits, I always see cars with them and they are almost always cracked around here... trust me if you go fiberglass and go over speedbumps ur gonna regret it... get polyuerethane or dont get a kit at all... as for ICE... as for all the ICE I've ever bought, its worth every penny... its great because you can actually see it all the time while driving, whereas you can only see outer mods once you get outta ur car... I'd go with a polyuerethane kit, then some ICE once youre done

Of course I'm gonna be biased because I live for car entertainment. So, yeah...I'd do mobile theater. Once you get into it, it opens up sooooo much more possibilities. After you get one screen then you'll want a bigger one...to the point of "how can I fit a 10" monitor up front??? Then you'll want it to as good, if not better than the system in your house. This leads to ALOT more road trips with friends.
Also, my reason for doing video is because the body kit I want is about $6800 from Veilside. |

urathane will not crap, it will rip or bend, which is VERY hard to do, you can almost bend it back on its self. my opionion on this is if you dont want the kit, get rid of it. body kits seem like a great idea untill you own one and have to drive around alot. then you want nothing more than a stock front end and stock suspension. the TV's seem cool and all, but are you going to sit in your car and play ps2 and watch TV alot? if yes, then do it. if you do it while your driving.... get off the road. i'd say either use the money for something non car related that you enjoy, or find something on your car that you will be able to enjoy more. lke a badass sound system, or maybe performance parts

depends on how you drive, and if you are low enough to catch it alot. It doesn't bend so if you catch it enough you crack and or rip it. One thing is its dead easy to repair if your any good with your hands and some power tools. I've had some pratice with carbon fiber which is very similar so when i put on a kit i'm gonna go with fiberglass cause its cheaper, and i can fix it. |

yes its more expensive now, but my front lip (its actualy REALLY low compaired to kits) has been on my car for over a year and its just got a few scratches on it. almost every one of my friends that went fiberglass has spend over 2 grand on new fronts, reas, paint, repaint(fiberglass dosnt take well to paint if not preped and sprayed well), they;ve gone weeks without front bumpers, always worried about breaking it, i can almost roll mine up on a curb, back off wipe the dirt off and you cant even tell. no scratches or anything(only done that 2 times since i've owned it) and steep driveways i sometimes scrape a little, and it flexes when its just too steep, fiberglass would just crack. a freidn of mine bought a fiberglass kit for a preldue, he offered me $100 to trade and he's paint his black because it was such a PITA. i have 2 friends besides me that went with urathane fronts or whole kits, none have had a SINGLE problem. pay a little more now, or pay ALOT later.

If you already have the kit, then to me it would make sense to go ahead and put it on. Save up and do both over time.
