if its real tuna steak get some seaoning salt sprinkle on both sides, then coat one side in pepercorns. pan sear the pepercorn side first, then the other side to your desired temp. i personaly like it rare. then make a demi lemon butter sause with large cracked black pepers in it. tastes great with a bit of ginger and some wassabi. also its very good to just season lightly, sear it, then use ginger and soysause and wassabi to eat it with. im goping to work, i'll see if i can think up any other good respipes i remember. do you have access to a good amout of ingredents?

That sounds pretty tasty, I might have to try it. I have a reasonable amount of ingredients....I might have to crack my own peppercorns, though. And I've only got ground ginger on hand, no root or pickled ginger.

I like it best as nigiri sushi.....but I couldn't eat 1/2 lb. of tuna. It's effectively tuna steak.

oh i forgot to say also add cream to the sauce to get it a lighter color. if you do that, but for me, i just love tuna, one of my fav dishes. dosnt matter how you cook it. its great with sauted crab meat on top also. and yeah, unless you have a good grill with wide bars that arnt too far apart, its gonna break and fall through.

I don't have a grill very available, but I do have a Foreman grill.

I did the pan searing thing, similar to what you suggested. Wow, that's good stuff. I usually will only eat tuna raw....but now that I have a way to cook the leftovers that I don't eat raw, I'm gonna eat a lot more tuna.

I mixed coursely ground peppercorns (mix of 5 peppers, mostly black malabar) with a slight amount of butter and a bunch of lemon juice, added in some ground ginger, and some whole black malabar peppercorns....cooked it in the pan till the center was mostly cooked and slightly pink. That turned out really well, good stuff.

I also mixed some sriracha pepper sauce with mayo to make a nice spicy sauce and dipped some of the tuna in that....mmmmmm good.

Thanks a lot for the ideas, you have made my day today. Nothing like starting with a damn good breakfast.
