Black Civic, White rims
Hey everyone. I have a 94 Civic EX. Its Black, and has 5% tinted windows, so its ALL black. I'm thinking about getting white rims, I've seen this one Black Civic/tinted windows with white rims rollin; around town, but I've only seen it once, and it was from far away... So no help there. I was wondering if anyone could find any pictures of a black 92-95 (generation 5) civic with white rims. I'm gonna get 17's, size doesnt matter. But I would love to see some pictues, to help me make my decision.
And what do you guys think, do you think it would look good? |

I think it would look great. the contrast and that. as long as the rim is simple. MOMO arrows in white would look good.

what town?
yes i think it looks good if u have the proper rim ...ie not ugly ones like i have white rims are VERY JDM i am told, so go for it here is a pic so u can get an idea again i hate my rims, but i got the very very very cheap, i needed something other than the crap i had, and these are wide tires so they grip alot better than 14" steelies |

what the hell is "jdm" about white rims... ![]() IMHO if you have a black car.. you owe it to YOURSELF and EVERYONE to get bronze/gold rims.. black + bronze ='s rediculously NICE.. once again... in my opinion.. white rims on ANY car is nasty.. and id personaly reconsider 17's.. as IMHO they will look ghey on your car.. |

wtf is wrong with being NOT JDM. I mean yes, if you race, go with a more simple low maintenence look. If you want show, by all means get some 18's and air ride. It depends on what you want. Some people cant seem to understand that you can take more than one road to 'nice' with a car.
Personally, i went the show route, and id much rather have performance now. I got some 17's (mad 22's OC) and im keeping them after i do my motor swap. Theres not a thing original about JDM anymore. Its just as rice as 17's and body kits. wow black 15's MAKE YOUR CAR SO MUCH FASTER !!! even if they are slightly performance oriented, in reality, who gives a shit ? wow you spent a lot of money for a JDM part. BFD. Im guilty of wasting money of carbonfiber hood and JDM console for my car, but then again, that console or hood dont make me much faster, and im still rice until i get my motor in the car basically, who cares, just dont try to give things more worth than they really have. IE stickers or bigass wheels dont = turbo.

i bet the differance in performance between some chrome 20's and 15 inch spoons would make a more noticeable differance in acceleration than the same car with STOCK wheels and lets say intake and exhaust...
and besides.. ill be the FIRST to tell you i respect quality.. in ANY form.. even if i think the car is complete dogshit.. if its done well.. ill tell you.. lastly.. about jdm lacking originality.. refer to my post about my headlights.. find ONE person in my town with real OEM CTR headlamps.. you WONT..you will find plenty of "type r style" but NOT a single real set.. the reason is simple.. "jdm" is cool now.. but the pricetag is not this is EXACTLY why im starting to go after all the REAL shit.. because it is the LAST chance to be slightly differant..ive seen PLENTY of shitty "jdm style" cars... for me it ALL comes back to quality.. do a search.. i would have said that 17s sucked.. since ive been on this board.. my views are NOT "jdm bandwagon based" |

i didnt say chrome 20's.
17's are in no way 20's. and mine arent chrome. They are matched to stock size. I also like JDM. But its overhyped now. Im jsut tryna make my car clean without being JDM. middle ground is fine by me. And hopefulyl after i got that b16 in the car ill have the speed to back up my rice.

for performance id say there are TWO key issues that keep me away from 17's one.. obviously they are MUCH heavier... two.. less sidewall this means two things.. one.. rougher ride.. and more prone to rim damage.. it also translates into stiffer sidewall.. which equates to worse launches in drag racing.. and finaly without a body kit they look absolutely dumb on an econobox civic.. once again this is all mostly my opinion altho the tire info is factual.. |

you all need big 20 inch chrome rims just to stand out in the crowd nowadays so 17 isnt good enough any more

Hey I have a black 98 Civic Ex with 17 inch white wheels. I think it looks really good, I keep my car very clean and the white rims contrasts the black shine very well in my opinion. If i knew how to put a pic on here I would show you what it looks like.

I know you're looking at contrast since your entire car is blacked out, but if I were you I would still consider the idea of dark rims. I have a friend with a black Integra with dark gunmetal OZ Racing rims. It is absolutely beautiful. I didn't think I would like the style of it when he told me those two colors, but it is amazing how well it fits together. Just a suggestion though.

Whites
Whites nice and all, but its played out man. Everyone I know wants white rims if they have a darker color car...I would personally go black if I where you. It would give it a very nice look at night. Paint your calipers a different color, it would look pretty slick : D...
