New BMW 6 series
The 4.4 litre V8 is lifted from BMW's 7 series and is good for 333bhp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Top speed as ever is limited to 155mph. The 645 will reach 60mph in 5.6 seconds.

I'm not too crazy about that car. I prefer the existing style of the 3 series, but I'm sure this will grow on me.

Yea, I haven't been able to figure out Chris Bangle's agenda yet. (He's the lead designer for BMW, an American). I am not a fan of the new 7-series nor the upcoming 5-series. But the E46 and Z4 look pretty awesome. There are also plans to introduce an M7 and 1-series.

Badass.
Side question: Why are they 645 and 745 instead of 644 and 744? I thought BMW usually stuck with S## with S=series and ## for the displacement, but this is a 4.4 not a 4.5. Anybody know why? b |

It's a 4.4 V8, so by their usual convention the car would be 644i, but the car is a 645i. Maybe they want to spoof people into thinking the engine is bigger than it is? ![]() Btw, nice pic in your sig. b |

Maybe Ducky will read this thread....
I'm just curious if there's a reason that they're diverging from their traditional naming convention. Or maybe what I think is their traditional naming convention isn't so traditional anyways. Maybe there's a 644 or 744 in Europe that they don't want names to conflict with? b |
