problems with site

Over the past week, I have had problems on the site when navigating. When I clicked on a forum I got a maximum user message. I did not write down the error but it was something to that effect. I tried closing all my browser windows and going straight to the home page but got the same error. Anyone know what is up with that?

I know exactly what's going on there... Our server hosts approximately 41 different domains, some of which get 100,000+ unique page views daily.. they've been diligently working on tweaking the performance to resolve this issue..

Seems like their tweaking is paying off as I don't believe there have been any issues over the past few days... (Correct me if I'm wrong here..)

Sorry for any inconvenience - I was frustrated right along with you, if that matters

site not available

Today, 9/4/01, the site was not available for several hours. In fact, I just gave up trying to connect. It was reminiscent of SHO, if you know what I mean. I did not get a "Too many users connected" this time. The site was just flat not available. Is your explanation above the same reason for this?
BTW, Thanks for being there to at least give an explanation. I don't remember the folks at SH giving a reason as to why they would be down for days on end.

Not sure what the difficulties were on that one... Our service provider is nothing short of fantastic. Quick to upgrade, respond, resolve issues, etc. I know that there is a memory upgrade around the corner as well - that should make a huge difference.

In this lovely technological world we live in, there are bound to be a few glitches here and there. Sorry about yesterday's .

Chris's Response to yesterday's down time:

- Confusion
- Denial
:( - Hoplessness
- Anger
- Sadness

Greetings,

On that particular day, our ISP managed to lose power and could not restore before the UPS gave out.. so the server was down until we could get a crew into the colocation provider and restart the server... sorry for the downtime.
