Pulls to the side during braking...
Hey guys,
Ever since I put my 17" rims on, during braking I sometimes feel a pull to left or right, and sometimes its sudden and sometimes its gradual. The alignment is fine. Just pulls during braking. Any ideas? |

maybe you don't have the same pressure in the callipers while braking. have your brake system checked

Mine does that some times since I put wider wheels on, most of it has to do with the road.
Try lower the tire pressure and see if that helps any.

nah i think it is because of the bigger wheel offset.

If all wheels have the same offset it should pull equally to both sides, thus cancelling any and all force created by the offset... make sure all the pressure in your tires is the same, and your brakes are balanced... other than that all i can say is make sure everything is normal (lugs tight, etc)... good luck finding and fixing the problem

The road may or may not be the culprit, but it certainly CAN be the culprit. Wider tires have much more of a tendency to hunt and dart around the road, and braking just makes it worse often times.
If it's slightly uneven pavement, or let's just say the car's on a slight lean due to the road, braking will exaggerate the effects and cause the car to pull more to the lower side. Please correct me if I'm wrong... b |

Well, keep in mind that braking does cause torque steer....and with your wider and probably stickier tires, you'll feel it more. That's probably not all of the problem though.
Does it pull both ways, or just one? |
