Hi guys, I'm a newbie and I just got a Civic '93 LX. It's kinda lame because it's a sedan and it's automatic (groans). It has 16 valves, so i'm guessing it's DOHC. Oddly enough it says it is SOHC in the manual. Shouldn't it be twincam if it has 16 valves? It has an AIWA cd player.. that's the only thing im proud of hehe =) i installed 2 more speakers on the back so the sound is good... kinda simple but good. Even though i plan on upgrading.

Yeah yeah but i can't complain cause i got it for free as a college present. Here's a pic of it:

I'm gonna try modifying the exteriors, then the interiors and then modifying the engine.

Any ideas on the exteriors?

I was thinking Spoiler, exhaust, foglights lol, body kit maybe? but im not sure which are the best of each since im a newb. Any help?
I don't like airplane spoilers (that's what we call them in Puerto rico) the alluminum ones. Maybe a carbonfiber hood...
I'm thinking $2000-$3000 will go on that. I'm kinda poor and don't work so the less the better heh.

The interiors: Maybe the seats, the gauges? bah i dont know. Need help on this.

and finally the engine lol that's the one thing i dont know how to mod, where to start, etc. I was told the first thing i should buy should be a K&N filter? heh. I was also spoken of a VTEC kit? Since my car is not vtec anyhow... also im not sure if this can be done but i would love to turn my car to standard.. i can drive standard well since i began driving stick shift.

I would to smoke all those mitsubishis out there hehe there's a lot of people with equipped "Mirage's" that are like Lancers here in PR, i dunno if you guys have those heh. Basically 7 of 10 street racers here have Mirage's ... bah!

hey welcome to HS...

well the 93 Civic Sedan it's not bad at all, I have one myself and sure damn proud of it even if it an automatic.

your link to the car doesnt work btw, and as for upgrading for the exterior go: drop it, body kit, and some rims

interior: paint the interior, indiglo gauges, and some vinyl seats, and/or get some neons

engine: start with the basic Intake/Exhaust/Header, if you have money get a swap or turbo it if you want to kill those car that you want

Nope its a SOHC. Both SOHC & DOHC have 16 valves......

Drop it & get some rims if you want looks. For performance get an AEM Cold Air Intake, Headers (DC are good), & an exhaust (greddy).

That will at least get you going....

uh....u can just drop it and put some rims that'll be kewl for a cruiser.....u could just leave it automatic and go all show and keep it clean....people will notice....but if the money is there get a b-series engine for not much more if any than ur basic i/h/e....peace

if u want power, swap it to a B-series engine. if you're happy with it and just want a little more power, then do the I/H/E. add a 50 shot nitrous if u want to get an extra instant boost of power.

if it's up to me, i would upgrade the suspension first. get a fully adjustable coil over cuz no matter which route, SHOW or GO, you'll need suspension upgrade. decide what it is that u want with the engine and we'll walk u to it.........my 2 cents
