Linkin' Park rocks!! I absolutely love their cd! And I think POD's pretty good, and I've liked all their songs they've come out with recently.

I think Linken Park is talented band. Although I cant stand hearing ANY song they have cept for "In the end" (its the song I listen to when I race) The radio has destroyed Linken Park for me...maybe if they didnt over play every song they have i'd still like them...

i'd agree with linkin park, and staind is awesome. POD has always rocked, i've listened to them since they came out in the Christian music scene.

true man top 40 radio killed Linkin Park.....but i've been a fan way before the radio grabbed a hold of the band.....when i get tired of hearing their "radio" songs, i'll listen to some old stuff and remixes.....my december and high voltage are my favorite and its not even on their major release.....HYBRID THEORY is such a great cd that there are some much good songs on it that even if their singles are overplayed you can listen to other songs.....Papercut is a good race song....

Moo.

HELL YES SYSTEM OF A DOWN AND TOOL!!!!! I love Godsmack too, you left out Static-X though
Don't much like linkin park or pod though, and I don't think Nickelback is really up there, their 15 minutes are up :o
Anyone in phoenix familiar with a place called VR? Non-stop linkin park is always blasting on the weekends, sometimes the same songs twice in a row, can't stand it anymore :o

It seems the people saying Linken Park are the ones that dont really listen to rock. They are like Limp Bizkit. Ive actually had someone tell me they love Limp's first album, I was like hell yea, that shit rocks. They had no idea that "the 1st album" was really their third. For any of you who think linken park rocks, LISTEN TO TOOL. I think they are best all around band of the 90's. They are like the Pink Floyd of our generation. 100% KICK ASS and the best part is THEY ARENT PLAYED ON RADIO MUCH so when you hear them you actually want to blast it. I think Eminem is completely badass but I cant stand hearing "Without Me" anymoe. System of a Down had that one song and Toxicity overplayed but sadly, I think those are near the bottom of the list for best songs on the album.
TOOL's best song (Undertow) #2 Prison Sex
System of a Down's best song (Toxicity) #3 Deer Dance

Listen to those songs before you say Linken park owns all. =]

As far as Deftones, what happened to their last album?? IT SUCKED!!!! First Korn CD rocked ass and the first limp bizkit rocked. They all suck now....too much society, too much politics.

Limp's first album...with Faith on it...rocks. I don't own any of their other cds. I enjoy them...but overplayed. Most of the good bands are. and the good bands that aren't are the ones that haven't sold out to media. I like linkin park and I like POD and most of the other bands mentioned. but my all time fav rock band will always be Aerosmith. I like Lit and Offspring too. But I have their older cds. I dunno...sorta moved away from the rock scene but I can still enjoy it.

honesly i hardly hear anything on the radio thats good. i'd say some of my fav bands are Bad Religion, or NOFX, Rancid is very talented. Blink 182 USTA be good (first album, cheshire cat), lagwagons real good. this new stuff i hear on the radio called "rock" sounds like rap but with a band. i must agree with 90civiclxryder, old rock is good rock. The Who, or zepplin. they had mad talent. the beatles are more talented than any radio band could dream of. i hate getting off on music of today, its very dissapointing if you ask me. i'd say 85% of my albums are pre 95. one of my fav's is from the 80's.. operation ivy

hiphop...no. Rap...maybe....trance/techno...w00t! Anyway to stay on topic...Radio Blows! They dont play anything decent, or they overplay the decent stuff. Deftones kinda disappeared in shame after their last album, SOAD had an awesome CD, as was their last one, they'll survive for a while. I actually saw them live at a Limp Bizkit concert several years ago...nobody knew who they were...Now they are huge. Lets see, who else is decent...not many people have heard of ZAO, but they are incredibly good, more hardcore christian punk rock than anything, but they have a very decent sound. I think they have broken up by now though. Of course Linkin Park is very talented also.

I miss Rage Against The Machine!

I think there is a diff between rap and hiphop. rap was before hiphop and is older school. Its just that rap got a bad "rap" and so a bunch of people changed the name to hiphop. Anyway I like DMX, Juvenile, etc. whatever...back to rock...heres my list:

Rock: Korn, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Godsmack, Adema, Fear Factory, Metallica, Rammstein

Punk Rock: (I'm sorry but blink is no longer punk rock) Anti-Flag, Thursday, Green Day, At the Drive-In, (and all the underground bands that dont have labels: THAT is punk rock)

Techno: DJ Skinhead, anything from the Deathchant comp, Basement Jaxx,

[insert rant about radio music these days with singers that can't sing and songs with 3-chord harmony]

Best rock band that's playing now? Dream Theater. Beautiful songwriting, and each player has more talent + skill than almost any group combined you hear on the radio.

Moo.

Hmm, technically none of those "punk" bands listed by feelmyride are punk, and green days not really punk anymore, more like poppy punk :P Green Day's still good though

THANK YOU! anti-flag kicks ass. propagandi is another of my fav's. theres so many good punk bands hardly anyones herd of, thats the best music out there. a few bands, such as nofx and rancid have made it to the publics eye, but are still out of main stream. im sorry, ive been watching MTV's cribs, and the guys from blink182 have a lot of money now. have you seen their houses? they are huge! i wouldnt mind, but i wouldnt want to be known as the biggest punk sell out band in history. watch new found glory is next. i saw them 4 years ago in a 30 person room in my small town in FL and no one knew of them. it was the debut of nothing gold can stay, i had the limited edition cd that was only avalibe for a short time only at shows.

I totally agree, there's different types of punk tho blink 182 is POP punk not punk- AFI, then there's EMO - saves the day.., SKA- reel big fish..... , Hardcore- minor threat

just some examples...

Yeah, there are so many great punk bands and so many sub-genres its hard to name them all. What would Rage Against the Machine be classified as? I'd almost say there is no classification. Its not punk rock, yet its political. Its rap/rock, but its not like all these new bands doin the r/r thing. RATM is awesome though!!

the market for people who want "orignal" music is to large for the record companies to over look, dont be fooled.

i am not all into these new bands, however i do like Linkin Park and Slip Knot. i am not saying that i "hate" the new bands. it's just that i've lost interest since the beginning of SKA. i started leaning more into the TECHNO style music. i still think that out of all the "punk bands" out there, no punk band can ever top SEX PISTOLS......but that is just my 2 cents. i'm from the old skool. back then, it was all about the SLAYER, METALLICA, MEGADETH, and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES type of stuff.

these days, i'm more into the breakbeatz, funky breakz, and electro breakz. gotta have the DJ Icey collection.......

My 2 lincoln.......

every music can be broken down too far, every band has their own style, making them their own band. you cant say anti-flag=punk because look at dead kennedys they are without a doubt punk, but not the same style punk but dont fit in a different catagory. then you have the mixed hardcore/punk or punk/ska hardcore/punk rap/regge regge/punk want me to go on?! i know im going way away from the topic but from my listening experience the music that hits the radio today is so wacked by producers its just a product to sell now, not the blood that pumps people anymore.
