Aaaaaaaaaaargh FUCK!
Alright...so I just sat down to watch a ...errr..."borrowed" copy of Tokyo Drift. I figured I'd watch it sooner or later and wanted to get it over with. The movie is predictable as can be with the usual "fish out of water" story, but that's neither here nor there. What pissed me off? The fact that Sonny Chiba was actually in it. For those of you foolish enough not to know who Sonny Chiba is, he was a huge influence in Japanese cinema (especially martial arts flicks) during the 70's and still remains one of Japan's most recognizable actors today right up there with Takeshi "Beat" Kitano. For those who like movies that suck, he was the guy who made that dumb whore Uma Thurman's sword in "Kill Bill Part 1). Then again, that movie sucked so bad I feel bad for even mentioning it in regards to Sonny Chiba. Jesus, Joseph, and doggie style Mary...if he's gonna be in American films, can't he at least pick good ones?

It's really not as terrible as I thought it'd be. They've trimmed away a lot of what could loosely be called the "plot" and pretty much kept in mind that people came to see cars.

It really is. They actually could've just hired stunt drivers and drove around and you would've missed the "actors". Like I said, they finally realized that the cars are the real stars of the film.

actually steve they didnt use stunt drivers. actuall pro Drift drivers didnt the driving. to be exact 7 of them did the driving.
it was pretty much the same plot as the first one with better cars and acting.

Well, yeah, I'm sure the used Formula D drivers or whatever, but you get the point. The actors weren't the ones driving. And actually, I didn't think the acting was all that good. But hey...that's alright because there wasn't much of it. There'd be like 10 minutes of dialogue and then another 10-15 minutes of car stuff. If you pay attention in the opening race scene, you'll nnotice that the guy who totals his Viper is Brad from the TV show "Home Improvement". That's worth a chuckle or two right there. I may have to watch it again, but it seems to me that the bad ass RX-7 in the movie kept switching driving sides (LHD to RHD). I wasn't paying enough attention to notice, but I'm pretty sure it did. One downside is that the main chick in the movie is NOWHERE near as hot as Eva Mendes was in the second one. Then again...few woman are as hot as Eva Mendes. Plus, the main chick is just downright annoying. Just like that Bow Wow homo.

I watched it friday, the only thing that made this movie slightly good was the car scenes, I liked how the AWD Evo did a rear wheel burnout
