Smell Of Gasoline
ok, so, i live in a very hot city named Phoenix. i dont know if heat matters in this situation, but today ive noticed my car emmits a heavy gasoline smell from the engine area.
i need to know what to do and what can cause this. im sorta scared my engine will blow up, what should i do? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

i would look for fuel leaks since the car is so old. it might be a hose that is cracked or some leaky gasket.

yeah looking at ur intake manifold...most fuel stuff is their...just turn on the car and check for leaks, if u cant find anything and u still feel something is wrong take it to a shop.....and have them check it, last thing u need is ur engine catching on fire while driving

ive talked to some mechanic neighbors and ive been told that my
air fuel ratio is messed up. something to do with my carbeurator being flooded. my car is currently getting 7mpg or less, but it feels as if i gained 100 hp lmao. anyways, thanks for your responses, no, there arent leaks, cause then i'd have a garage of gasoline ![]() i dunno if i want to spend $5,000 on a h22 swap or not. |

if you had a gas leak it doesn't mean there is going to be a puddle of gas under the car I had a car that had a gas leak but only while it was running and it was onto the intake manifold

yea i figured it out, the person who diagnosed it for me was so retarded, trying to get 400 bucks out of me. i stood there for a long 20 minutes, until i realized i had a leak where the Fuel Filter is. The total cost to fix the problem was $10. The time was 1 Minute.
now, dont i feel stupid? it did suck though when i was driving and getting 7MPG. ![]() ![]() |
