wow, don't i feel dumb

friendster is a web community where you sign up, then you get a friend to sign up, now you to are connected, then he gets his friends, who get their friends, who get their friends, next thing you know you're connected to like 1 million people.

www.friendster.com

and xanga is an online journal thing that allows people to post their journals publicly and also setup web blogs

www.xanga.com

i bet the small amount of girls on this board know about it then, or am i the only loser?

so is it like a pyramid scheme, or is it some sort of private file sharing, or does it have no purpose but to make losers feel wanted by...other losers?....hmmm....

ok so basically let's say i "invite you to sign up". you get this email that says i invited you, you click on the link, and now you're signed up and linked to me. now for example i've got say 15 friends on this that are linked to me. so you are now linked to these 15 people in your personal network. now lets say my 15 friends each have 3 friends of their own linked to them. so now you actually have 45 people in your network, actually 46 including me. then their friends have like 3 people, and so on. it's purpose is debatable, but it's addicting to some people(see above post) and you can include testimonials for your friends.

I understand the linking, that makes sense...er well...I understand that I mean...but I still dont understand what its for. People are linked...so what?
Explain what its for, besides linking

you can meet cool people with common interests and find out if you have friends in common.. it helps to meet new people.. and also make new friends in your area through the networking.. its pretty cool if you know enough people to get started.. ive met some really nice people, and found people with similiar car interests to talk to .. meet up with.. and found out i have friends in common with people i would have never thought of :p

you can even find old HS friends if you use the search function.. its not like overly exciting.. but its fun to kill time.. cuz after awhile the same old stuff gets really boring :p
