Arrow Not for the mentally insane......put it to rest...

Ok look. I am putting this argument to rest right now.

I have had kids come up to me everywhere I am, and start bragging about how they are getting hydraulic shocks etc...

Ok...... an import car CAN get hydraulic shocks ok..... that is if you want to destroy your car. The frame of a sport compact car is not strong enough to handle the force a hydraulic pump puts out. Sorry, you can get it if you have a shitload of money sitting around, but if your thinking about getting them, have fun until your car falls apart.

Second, air bags and air struts ARE different. Air struts are the best in means of handling, if you were thinking about hydraulics because of all the horror stories of air bags.... then this is your alternative. I myself am getting these very soon.

Third, air bags.....oh air bags. Ok, they are badass, yes, but they are for people who drive their cars from point A to point B. Meaning point A is their house, and point B is a show. YES, they can bust, if one busts most likely another will. The handling with air bags is terrible, ok? END OF STORY. The handling sucks, if you are looking to make your car "gangster", to raise it up to get over speed bumps, to control heighth, i would recommend air struts, they are simple and bolt-on. OK sorry i had to get that off my chest.

air bags are okay. I still prefer a full coilover system. I gues it just all depends. I like a fully functional and tunable suspension.

I'm with thermalf'id16...coil overs all around. They're still ride-height adjustable (albeit a little more involved than raising or lowering an air bagged car) and the handling is just about second to none. Air bags are just weak and lame. Especially factory air ride suspensions.

cylinders power airbags........air struts, or air springs are much better.
