greddy charge pipe

ok.. i got nothing to now and have my turbo layhing around in my room
so i looked at the pipes, i looked at how the charge pipe connect to that curve (connecting) pipe...
but the size of the charge pipe is bigger than the cuver pipe, is thit normal?????
coz when i see the pipe connecting from the curve pipe to the turbo, it's the same size as the cuver pipe !!
so is this normal??
