Need some other opinions...
Well as you can tell from my sig, I'm getting a 94-98 Silvia.
When I sell my civic, I'd have about 10500 to play with (roughly). I can probably get an old model 94 for AROUND 4-5G, that only leaves me with about 5 Grand tops. My car will not be build to drag/drift spec, because I want to keep SOME of the interior for show purposes. Heres where your input comes in.. Should I, Swap the RB25DET engine in first? (That will cost the remaining 5,000 dollars to get it done w/ the parts fabricated as well. That'd leave me with absolutely NO money to spend on other areas. Or should I, Do the s15 strawberry conversion, get some nice Bronze ROTAS in nice rubber, and possibly midly mod the engine, and swap at a MUCHHHHHHHHHHH later time? If i went the first route, all I would have to spend upgrading my car would be suspension, brakes, exhaust, GT turbo, bigger--- well I'd have to overhaul the engine basically, but I'd have the HARD part already done. Your input? so lost.. I want a nice looking ride -_-... so tired of the ugly civic.

Neither. Buy the car, drive it for a while. Hold on to the 5g until you decide you want to keep the car for sure (nothing's a bigger waste of money than modding / swapping a car then selling) then dump the rb25det on it.
Oh, and the only guy who's a bigger a**hole than a honda driver is a nissan driver. |

are you doing a s15 conversion kit or an actual s15 front? If you are doing the actual front then just get the s15 front clip plus the rear section which is included with it, generally runs upwards of 5 grand just for the clip. but you get the crappy six speed tranny that will bust around 300hp.
94-98? i thought that 94 was the s13 convertible. the rb25det is really not worth it compared to the sr20. now if you were going rb26, different story. the rb25 is nissan's luxury car turbo motor, yeah it's found in the non gtr skylines, but also in their sedans in japan. it's also a heavier motor at that plus has less of an aftermarket support. meaning all of your parts would have to come straight from japan since there are no parts made in the u.s. for the motor, unlike the sr20. you could go red top sr20 front clip for under 3 grand and get it put in around 1000-1500(I believe signal charges 1500). you could do an s14 det for mid 3 grand. do the suspension and brakes and stuff first. continue to think about your motor and your plans, that way when you swap you don't need to worry about the car handling the power. you're gonna need to upgrade your breaks to at least 300zx calipers, you could go skyline as well. i'd look at tokico/ground control for a budget suspension, or a tein setup but be ready for a rough ride on those great freeways, like the 91 around gardena. you could go full nismo but that will cost a pretty penny, stay away from zeal, they are a little over priced at the moment due to their low sales volume. what shop are you gonna go to? there are only a few shops around that can do the setup and wiring perfectly, everyone else doesn't understand the wiring and ecu setup to allow all of the functions. i have a good relationship with this guy http://www.enonvativforce.com/ but don't go to him until you get the car, i have been in his s14, pure power....grrr. just let me know, I know plenty of people.

well see i can get the rb25 for around 3250, 3600 shipped.
Thats right around what a sr20 black top costs (s14).. yea i've been hearing reports about the shitty s15 6 speed. As for the conversion, I was just going to replace the fenders/lights etc.. not weld on a s15 front clip... is that totally unfeasible though? hot damn RHD. Would i... need too... gettt.... itt... registered... as for the whole "cosmetics before performance" ... what can ya say? i'm a damn teen :P

isn't the 94 a S13....S14's go from 95-98 with 97-98's having a few minor changes? anyways....when i was lookin at nissans i definately wanted to swap a Sr20....it seems so much more feasible and it is supported much better in the states...but i'd also die to get the S15 conversion too.....if you need help with any parts I'd definately worth helping you out...contacts in my sig.

I'm pretty sure the s14 is included in the '94 models, because I have looked up the '94 models and have gotten the "boxless" version of the 240..
thx for the offer, I'll let you know.
