The Aftermath

Okay so as some of u know that i got my clutch install over the weekend.....and after spending only 200 for the install, i'm happy, BUT i'm also little pissed. Well the thing is that i stalled three times getting out of hte parking lot of the shop, the problem with the clutch is that as soon as i lift the clutch like a inch it's already ingaged, the guy that installed it warned me about the quick engagment but he also hold me about a hydrolic kit that i can get, anyone know anything about this?? He said that the kit lifts the clutch pedel some so that is a space before it engages, so it doesn't engage as soon as i lift the pedel a inch. If this cant be done anyone know why my car shakes like crazy trying to get into 1st. Other than that the car shift alot better and on the highway it's even more fun to drive....thanx peace

well i noticed the same problem on some civics with aftermarket clutches. i never heard of the kit thou. maybe you can do it from the cable. i'm sure you will get used to it. i stalled 3 times a civic in front of the customer because of his aftermarket clutch.

Well, my ACT clutch grips a little lower than stock, but not much. I'd try another shop to see if they'll adjust it!?!

Hmm... there are no screws that are hard to reach to take the console off. Maybe I gave bad directions.

Checklist:

2 screws in the bottom (under trap door) of armrest/console
2 screws below cupholder
1 screw at an angle next to the cupholder
1 screw behind the ashtray

Unhook the emergency flashers/clock leads. There may be one or two more screws, but theres nothing a normal phillips driver won't reach. Do you have a picture? I'm probably just a little confused.

I just got a new clutch last week and now after 500+ miles I am starting to get used to it. Yes it was kinda harsh the first couple of days, I'm still trying to perfect first gear-I keep peeling out. Overall the new clutch is great and my car seems alot quicker.

VTracer19-did the guy who put in your clutch tell you about the break-in period. Go easy on it for 500 miles before you start to drive like a madman!

If you're getting wheel hop from burning out, that's more of a suspension issue.
