Its on its way

Well guys and gals needless to same I'm incredibly ecstatic!
I ordered my new car today and it is scheduled for delivery sometime in mid-June.
As some of you already know I am getting an Infiniti G35 Coupe... I decided to go with red and black interior, and of course getting the 6spd with leather, 18" rims and performance tires, and of course the brembo brakes
I will have to swing by Columbus to visit you guys once it comes in
I don't really know the point of this post, I guess Im just really happy and want to spread it to anyone here, that is, anyone that actually cares

Sounds good. Good luck with the car.

Three months seems to be the standard wait time with a car that is ordered from the factory.

Haha yup, well, it depends on how much I sell my car for... I have my car's value plus about 9k I have in stocks, and parents agreed to help a lot for graduation, so hopefully I wont be too broke. I also got a pair of good jobs lined up this summer so that should help with the cash situation. GF gonna help me replace the stereo and tint my windows, and also gotta get a front nose-mask for those long road trips

You aren't going to believe me, but my insurance company quoted me around 3400/year for the G35, whereas my Highlander is about 3600/year. Make sense to you? It doesn't to me. Oh well, they quote me 6k/year for a 95 sc300 and 3.4k/year for a 03 g35 coupe... riiight, I gotta get me some of whatever they are smoking, even though I don't smoke that stuff has gotta be GOOD

Ok so my parents own their own company and have money and can afford to help me buy a car for graduation, what am I supposed to do, say no thanks? I dont think so. Don't hate because my car will be nicer than yours. And where do you draw the line of spoiled? I don't exactly sit on my ass every day, I go to the hardest private school anywhere near here and make damn good grades, go to work every day after that, do shit around the house constantly, etc. Don't be ignorant, and don't be jealous. Sure I will have a nice car, and no I won't be paying for every penny of it from money made at work, big deal. Serious question: You say I am "spoiled". Think about what that word means. In no way shape of form am I a ruined person for getting this car, and just because I am not paying for every penny of it with money doesn't mean I haven't earned it by being a damn good son and staying out of trouble, not drinking, not smoking, making good grades, having a good paying steady job, helping around the house, etc. As you can tell this is a pet peeve of mine. Just don't go around criticizing someone simply on the basis of jealousy for something they have. Thank you.

yeah, that's just your lifestyle...

i never got allowances every week, every other week, or every month. i had to work for it. just last year, my dad suprisingly told me that he's helping me pay for my car.

that's why it annoys me when people accuse others of being spoiled just because they get one big thing. i think those people should just keep their mouths shut if they don't know that person's lifestyle.

it's not the kids fault that the parents have money...that's life.

No spoiled is right.... I'm sorry and all but that's it.... IF YOUR DRIVING A 30k+ car and you put in a whole 9k of stocks (that your parents GAVE you) and the price you get for your car (that I'm assuming your parents GAVE you) YOU ARE IN FACT SPOILED.

You have NO appreciation for what it actually takes to accumulate things of that value...

My brother is over 30 and just went car shopping... He own's his own business and works like 90 hrs a week.... He wasn't looking at ANY infinity much less a G35....

You would be spoiled if you were like me and got ANY new car... My parents bought me a $7k new car when I turned 16... I treated it like it was a benz... that doesn't make me NOT spoiled... I was totally spoiled.... you don't just GET things in life because you do what is TOTALLY EXPECTED..

OOOOOOOO you go to school... WOW
huh? you work... OH MY GOD...
YOU HELP AROUND THE HOUSE.... Oh I'm sorry I was wrong your not spoiled....

COME ON....

Be happy enjoy your car but don't sit there getting handed 25k+ and say your not spoiled... Even if it was a new vw or honda you'd be spoiled.

OH and to answer your question... my father DID offer me a BMW when I was graduating... I told him the same thing I'd tell him now.... I DID NOT EARN NOR DO I DESERVE A CAR LIKE THAT. And I worked FULL TIME the ENTIRE TIME I was in H.S. I PAID RENT to my parents...

No person who didn't pay for it themselves deserve anything....

If it was handed to you YOU ARE SPOILED....

I'm not trying to be a dick or make you feel bad or anything but be honest with yourself... YOU ARE SPOILED.

Go and enjoy the car and be happy with it and all but don't sit there pretending you DESERVE or have EARNED that car in ANY WAY.

I've said in previous threads for people not to hate on others who are getting shit that they wish they could... and I stick to that... angrily stating YOUR SPOILED as a response to this thread is juvinille and all... But having the balls to stand up and say your NOT spoiled when you are getting a $30k+ car and saying you somehow deserve it or are not spoiled... GET REAL.

ok- let me make a few things clear
I have worked every summer for the past 6 years (since i was 12) and every day after school for the past 3
As for the 9k in stocks? That money was earned by me, invested, and doubled.
In case you are intereted, I make $10/hour plus nice cash commisions when signing new clients for the investment firm I work for.
And my grandparents paid for most of the highlander, but I threw in about 5k (once again, that I earned) to pay for what I could.
And don't start with me about not being appreciative. I take such incredible care of my car and love it so much and wish I could keep it, I just yearn for a sports car. In case you haven't checked out the pics of my car, check my sig. It is as clean as it was 2 years ago off the dealer lot.
Dude, just cause I didn't pay for it doesn't make me all that spoiled. I certainly didn't ask for it at all, it was offered and of course I will accept. I highly doubt your tall tale of turning down a bmw from your dad.
As for your brother. He must not be in the best of times and/or not the most profitable of industries. Because he made a bad career choice and works hard instead of smart (or just has all equity tied up in company) doesn't mean he deserves a car any more than anyone else that works hard.
I wanted to get a Supra (me paying for it), but parents wanted me to get a new car and *OFFERED* to help me pay for it, so why not. I guess my full college scholorship didn't influence their decision.

This thread is turning completely off topic. I don't really give a shit if you think I'm spoiled, whatever. If you had any idea what the you were talking about and if you had any idea who I was you would know a bit better, but as far as trying to tell me what I deserve and don't deserve, off. Just because I have nice things doesnt make me the stereotypical teenager that gets everything he wants. I am far from it, and because you have no idea about my situation I would invite you to shut the up and keep your open jealousy and disdain away from a thread in which I was trying to be happy and positive. Thanks again for being an ass.

do people know what being spoiled is?

when you're spoiled, they don't just ask if you want it or not, you TELL them and they get it for you, and 90% of the time, you DO get it.

oh well, not my problem.

Look man as I said I am not looking to spoil your fun or to be a d*ck....

Your getting something you DID NOT EARN.

The story of my father and the bmw is ABSOLUTELY true... I'm not into free ride kinda crap (not that there's anything wrong with it). I felt like crap that they bought my civic...

And like I said... I'm spoiled too... no I'm not a rotten kid or un-appreciative... and by "spoiled kid" standards I'm not that spoiled or even much of a kid.

My parents bought my 7k dollar civic... and I felt like a spoiled loser for having to accept it.... but they would not let me total the car to collect the insurance... The original car I got was a 7k dollar new car and I treated it like it was a porsche... that doesn't mean I earned it. And like you I wanted to buy my own car when I turned 16 and my parents wouldn't let me so they bought me the cheapest new car they could find....(that doesn't change the fact that I got a car I (in capitols) didn't earn).

I'm not jealous of you at all... I don't care that you'll be driving a luxury sport car while I drive a beat up crappy car from over 10 years ago.... It doesn't bother me at all.. what bothers me is your inability to deal with reality....

YOU ARE SPOILED.

no your not a dick or a snot nosed jerk or anything but your getting a 35k pat on the back from your parents.... and saying your NOT spoiled... come on... reality owns you.

And yes you can come up with a thousand justifications for WHY your parents are handing you a car and that's great... but the reality is... You are SO young driving a car that is SO out of your class I'm guessing you don't have to worry about being called spoiled because NOONE would believe that your parents GAVE you a car like that.... They'll just assume your driving your Dad's car.

Anyway.... LIKE I SAID ORIGONALLY

CONGRATULATIONS.... I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR CAR.

I'm not being fecicious... I really hope you enjoy it. And I think that it's awesome your parents are not only in a position to do this for you but also willing to...

I'm not trying to shoot you down or ruin your thread.... but don't sit there and say your not spoiled when your getting a gift 99.9999% of the world would NEVER EVER EVER even DARE to imagine getting.

Congratulations again and let us know when you get delivery.

i have a question...

my friend just moved about 40 minutes away from school, and his parents are getting him a new '01 civic because it was a pretty good price($105 a month) so he can drive to school. not to mention he's a senior.

he didnt' have a car when he lived by me, because we'd take the school bus, and his parents didn't even think about getting him a car yet. i drove him everywhere.

but he's moving and his parents are getting him a car so he can attend his senior year at the same school.

would you consider that as being spoiled?

He's driving a car that he did not pay for to a school I'd imagine he is also attending at his parents expense (assuming he's in college not highschool).

Like I said... I got a NEW car for my 16th birthday... I'm spoiled...

I'm not a bad person. I just got stuff I didn't earn.. I'm privelaged... spoiled.

Most people have to WORK for what they have... Not invest their parents money wisely, or their grandparents or whatever. I'm not saying that your friend or highlander are BAD people...

What I'm saying is most people don't even have cars... if they do they're old beat up and shitty....

The sense of entitlement conveyed by highlander when he said he was not spoiled upon announcing he's recieving a 35k dollar gift just bothered me and I'm not gunna let that fly...

I call it how I see it... Yes your friend is spoiled. Most people who have parents who move in their senior year GO TO A NEW SCHOOL... much less get a brand new car to go back to they're old one.

YES... Highlander is spoiled. To consider yourself not spoiled or privelaged (same thing different words) when you are getting an INFINITI G35 is just plain rediculous.

Be happy about having parents like that and be happy your driving a mint car like that but don't have the balls to say your not spoiled...

Again... congratulations on the car and the scholorship.... best of luck to you.

I'm not jealous or angry... Just making sure you have a grip on reality.

Highlander,

Well, you are not spoiled. G35 Coupe is not bad because it's a nice car. You want a leather seats and tinted glasses on your car. That's cool. You don't want a sunroof in your car. That's okay.

I never get a job since I was 16. Because it's too hard to understanding what I saying to everyone at work place. Then my mum won't let me to work because my english isn't well when I came from Hong Kong in 1997. Then I'm not amercian. I'm british. Because Hong Kong have been british rules until 1997. Then I move here in May 1997.

I was 17 yrs old from 2 yrs ago, then I'm interset about driving the car. Then I want to drive sport car or 2 drs car (couple) because it's fun but it's not practical. However there is 3 ppl on the back seats. Then it's hard to get out of the car or get stuck at the car. Well, I use Sedan Car. Because my parents won't let me to drive 2drs car. Then I want to get a brand-new car but it's too expersive and I have no money. I can buy a 2nd hand car because I can get a money from my father. Also, the car insuricane. My stepdad and my mum have no money for the car because they want to use to paid money for bills, foods and rent. Not the car.

Last year, I turn to 18 yrs old and I got my d/l in Nov 7th after I passed written and road test on same day. Then I plan to buy a used car here.

Also, I want to get Black 1996 Honda Accord Sedan V6 for $7000 at Seattle because the price aren't bad and don't know how many milages they have. This car had tinted windows, wing, leather seats and nice sounds. But it's too far to get a car. Because V6 is faster than V4.

I went to car shop look for Black Accord. Then I want to look for come with leather seats, tinted windows and wing. Then I get Black 1995 Accord Sedan but doesn't have alarm, tinted windows, wing or leather seats. Because my parents say to me *It's too hot in summer and it's too cold in the winter* Also, I hate cloth seats cuz it look and isn't comfortable well. So, I'm trying to save money for upgrade my car. Because I can get change the covers for my car seats and etc. I brought my car come with CD Player (Kenwood) and wheel rims not wheels cover. And the mil. are 108k.

Leather seats isn't bad and look nicely like MBW, M-Benx and Lexus. I dun care bout leather seats. I like hot and cold during season. LOL!

Do you undderstand what I say???

Well, this is a off-topic.

nonovurbizniz, he's in highschool.

the funny thing is, they were just looking for a cheap ass car, like around $2000. then his dad realized that if they get a car that cheap with a lot of miles on it, they'd have to get new tires, engine, transmition, clutch, ect...so it'll add up anyways. he didn't want to pay for all of that. so that's why they went with the civic. he's on his own with the mods though, he works at the same place i work and the pay is pretty good.

you still didn't answer my question...

what the hell does "mint" mean?!

the wait is because he wanted a setup that wasn't on the lot... so they ordered it.

Did they do a national search? cuz a lot of times dealers swap cars around depending on demand.

yeah, most people did/do.

i never got allowance and they say i'm spoiled because my dad helped me pay for the civic.

add up all of the allowance you got from the last 8 years(assuming you got paid from 8 years old to 16)

now that's a lot of "spoiled" money...

i really cant say much because i can see both sides of the coin. when i was 17 i work hard to find my own car, got a loan and paid every dime needed for that car! but also on the same token, i have 2 horses that i dont spend a dime on.

i think spoiled is your atitude not what you have been given. i realize i am a lot more fortunate than most. i grew up not knowing my dad had major cash, i also thought we were average. and my kids will grow up the same way regardless of the amount of money being made.

i am greatfull for my parents who gave me great work ethics and made me realize at a young age there is alot more to life than material possessions.

ok sorry for teh long pointless post, but in essence i am saying spoiled is a state of mind not amount of $$$ you are given.
