a little help guys...
I'm thinking of going turbo but my d16 already has 118000+ miles on it. Is it a good idea...should i do anything before installing a turbo?

With that many miles I would really consider a rebuild, if not I wouldn't run much boost. Do compression test and check for blow by.

i too, would consider rebuilding or swapping it out. a turbo for a d16 costs what? 3k?(i don't know) buy a new engine b18c for under 3k. that'd be a nice motor to turbo.

the Greddy kit's only around $1500. Granted it does lack an intercooler, but you can find some pretty good deals on those. Of course it doesn't put out the kind of power other systems do, but then again any significant amout of boost is gonna do wonders to those aged rings. Check the compression. If it's good, I'd still go with light boost. If it's bad, use the money to rebuild it... and make sure you get the block resleaved for boost.

If your running low boost you dont need to resleeve your engine.
That alone would be like 1000$. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm also considering a swap but the problem is that my parents are always on my rear end about me spending money on my car. So if i get that swap...I'm gonna be in a world of sh#t when I tell them that i won't have a car for a while...but it is still an option.
