				oil leak
I am new here. Can anyone offer advise for my problem. I have an 89 Honda Accord. 2lt eng that developed a front main oil seal leak. I accessed the seal and removed it. Checked the ridge of the crank and wall for any scratches/gouges and it was smooth. I installed a new seal and it continued to leak (same pace) A friend suggested a shim seal "sleeve" so tried this with a new oil seal and it continues to leak (same pace). The engine runs smooth with no apparent balance problems. Any suggestions? Thanks for any imput... Howard from Florida |

				 | The oil is coming from your balance shaft which is above and to the front of the car, compared to the crank. You will need the seal and a seal retainer that goes on top of the seal. As the seal has a tendency of walking and unseating, creating the leak. |
