Is it a good price???

Hey guys and girls, I have a question I had a 92 prelude but thats another story any ways I have to get a new car now I went on the car hunt today and I found a 94 Civic DX coupe with 68k and a integra v-tec engine.....the guy is asking 5,600. Is this a good deal or a bad deal?? The cars looks like its in good condition inside and out and im gonna drive it tomorrow. If i should give him a offer what should i try? Or is it not worth it?? Thanxs in advance for your feed back.

I would look at the car very closely. You never know what they coulda done during the swap. Make sure its not a redneck hack job or something.

Watch for fluid leaks or thing that look like they have been cut. Listen to it run, make sure everything is working ok. Lights, parking brake, windows etc. Check to see if you can see anything that looks goofy with the wiring harnesses. See if the guy that has the car did the install or had a shop do it. Get a little background on the car.

Let him drive it, it may show you how he really drives. Kinda sounds dumb, but it makes sense if you think about it. Let it run for a while and make sure its staying cool enough.

You probably can't get info about the previous owner then. You need to find out the true mileage on the car, that is a deciding factor.

Good point. Buying a pre-modded car (including engine swap) is buying a car from someone who liked to go fast. This means the car was probably driven hard, which isn't something you'd want. Why not just buy a civic and swap an engine yourself?
