Dunno what to call this-> Blinker and steering wheel related

Normally when you turn on your blinker and turn your steering wheel, the blinker goes off when you turn the wheel back into its normal position. Well, it stopped working on my civic (96 DX)

Is there and easy way to fix it? The steering seems to be handling much better now. Started when problem began. Feels like its less stiffer now.
