Fading dome light

I have a 94 civic...and i was wondering there is a mod that you can do to make the light fade off rather than just go off then you close the doors

Interesting question! My 2000 dome light 'fades' when it goes out, so there has to be a way. Never thought about it though. I figured they were all that way. Hrm...

It might involve a new light dome. My car has the fading effect, though until now i figured it was like that on most cars. Maybe your best beat (if it was just the dome) would be to pick a dome up for a new civic or another honda that has the fading effect.

it's a relay or something similar all you have to do is wire in a self dischargin capacitor. Ie. while the cap is powered it's on but when the power to the cap is cut it takes a few seconds for the cap to discharge fully giving a "fading" effect.

don't know any part numbers or anything but it should be relatively simple.

he's exactly right. that was everything I was going to say. I see if my electronics teacher will give me an idea on how to do this. We are learning about caps right now, so it would be an interesting project.
