Military School

About 1.5 months ago...I was caught by the police "attempting to rob from a coin opperated machine."
They let us go then...but earlier this week...they finally called...
Lately my grades have been horrible...and my parents caught me drinking...and now they found out about this...
And my mom suggested military school...
I mean...I know if i do this, my life will probably end up way better...
But i also know...that if i go i'll hardly be able to go out...and there will be no watching tv or getting on the internet and othe stuff like that until i graduate...
I need structure in my life...which military school will help me achieve...But i also need friends...and fun...And i'm not too sure military school will help me out in this area...
I know, I'll meet friends there...but I'll miss my friends here way too much...
It just won't be the same...
I'm not too sure if they let people have cars and stuff there...And part of my life now is about cars and learning mroe about them...Thats another thing that i'll miss greatly...
I'm not sure what to do...
I know that i'll eventually come back after i graduate, and see all my friends again...but i dunno if i'll be able to be without my friends for over 2 years...
Help me out here...Should i think about the future in my career(I plan to join to AF or Navy) Or should i think about my social life now...
I know it seems like a simple question...but i'm having a hard time with it right now.
My life sucks.

16???? And your doing that? WTF? I mean dang bro......why in the world would you want to do that?

I don't think military school is the answer, just get your life straight. The way I look at things are, if I'm about to do something, I think first to myself "Is this going to benifit me later?" and "Would I see any millionair doing this?" If I answer NO to either of those questions, it's not really worth my time because it's not going to benifit me later.

Military school would help, but there is not always gonna be someone there to tell you what to do. I suggest getting your life in order yourself. You shouldn't need someone to make you not drink, get goor grades, not steal, etc.

you need to go to church
seriously, if you worry about your afterlife, then god will work your life out just fine.

Damn it doesnt sound like you do anything most teenagers dont do, I did all that shit(even screwing around with a vending machine, didnt break into it though just tipped it forward to get free drinks). You sound smart enough not to do anything really dumb so just keep it cool and dont get arrested and dont do any illegal drugs for like a year before you go into the military. Oh and when they(recruiter and anyone else) ask you if you've used illegal drugs JUST SAY NO! They really dont care they just have to ask you, just make sure you can pass a pee test. I'm not saying you do drugs just letting you or anyone else know.

I agree....if you go to military school it might help you out for the time that you're in there but as soon as you get out and have your freedom again you'll go right back to the way that you were....what you need is structure in your life and that's something that you're gonna have to find from within.......just my $0.02.........

I don't believe in god...
The thing is...i wanna smoke, and drink...and do whatever else i want, be it illegal or legal, and this might be the only thing that can stop me from doing all that "bad stuff."
I know that if i stay where i am...nothing's going to change...i'll keep doing what i'm doing except i'll just be more careful abotu getting caught.
And I'm kinda fond of the fact that going to military school will help me in the Navy or AF(it will right?)
I'm a smart guy...could do well if i cared...
And even if it doesn't work out...and i feel like i'm gonna kill myself if i go to a military school...maybe that hanging over my head will help me work stuff out...

Just an FYI, you need to get your mind right before you can get your life right. Think about what your doing before you do it.

First of all....wtf??? you don't believe in GOD?? Well, sorry to tell you that's your first problem...I'm not the most religious person out there...actually far from it...BUT everyone has to have some kind of structure and if you don't believe in GOD...and afterlife...blah blah blah, than you have nothing to base your life on so of course your gonna do whatever the **** you want to do....and no, with the attitude that you have, military school isn't gonna help you out in the AF or Navy later....when you get to your first base, you pretty much have the freedom to do whatever you want....so, o.k., you'll be "structured" for the first few weeks...months...whatever. Then you'll go to a party with some friends whether it be on base or off base and at one point or another you'll be around drugs and alcohol and be tempted....you think it's bad to get caught doing drugs when you're a civilian? Try it while you're in the military....

You need guidance from somewhere and IMO military school probably won't do shit.......

whoa dude...chill out...You'd be suprised how many people don't believe in god...I just can't force myself to believe in anything like that...to me it's just nonsense...please don't critisize me for having my own beliefs...I base my life on the fact that i want to live, and enjoy life.
And what i meant by saying it'd help me in the AF of Navy is that i'd already be used to or atleast sort of accustomed to the whole military thing...not being structured.
Another reason i think i want to do this is because i want to find that something to strive for...that one thing to work for...thats what i want...

o.k....I apologize...flew off the handle there a little bit but I see what you're saying....just let me give you an example of my life....when I was 16-17-18, I drank..alot...and smoked (alot)...and was a thief (long story) and my life was going to shit...literally. I got arrested, got kicked out of my parents house...had to fend for myself...then one day something (maybe a little birdie, maybe GOD, maybe my conscience...don't know) just clicked and I was like "wtf am I doing?" From that day on, I straightened up and started living my life and putting a path in front of myself. I worked for a big company where I started at the bottom and worked my way to the top...I was 21 making $32k/year....I resigned 4 yrs later and joined the military and it wasn't to get stucture, it was because I didn't go to college and didn't have the money/time to go on my own. So, I joined so the military would pay for my education.....that and having prior military experience on your resume is a big plus later on.........

Military school is not really going to help you with the military.

I wonder how people can not believe in God, I mean do people honestly think that everything in the universe is due to millions of damn coincidences. I mean I used to be all skeptical and think that religion was something people made up just to feel better when someone close died, but then I thought about it for a long time and came to the conclusion that all of this in our universe just didnt happen for no apparent reason.

i dont believe in "God". Millions of coincidences? its called evolution. thats how i see it, YOU cant change my mind, NOONE can change my mind, thats how I feel.
Thats like me asking you, do you honestly think "God" just waved his hands and put people and animals on this planet?

Man... I feel you. When I was 16, I got caught steeling a car. My life was pretty bad at the time. They were going to lock me up for awhile but my grades in high school were A's and B's. School wasn't really my problem. It was all the influence from my peers that got me in trouble. I didn't realize it at the time but I really needed an ass kicking because I was headed down a path towards disaster. Because I had good grades, the court thought that it wasn't me and that it was the people around me. I left for Fork Union Military Academy for 2 years. Only male. Strict as hell. Shit was horrible at first but there's a certain bond that you develop because everyone else hates it just as much as you do. My school was 4 hours away from my house so I visited home every other weekend. I just started to go out with a girl when I left. It was hard but we stayed together through my freshman year in college. I really don't have an opinion on what you should do. It all really depends on the individual. For me, I think without military school I'd be locked up somewhere. But my situation was pretty bad. Sounds worse than yours. When you go to military school, you have the winter break and summer break off. You can visit home a couple times a month for weekends if you don't mess up and someone's willing to pick you up and drop you back off. Some military schools are coed. Some offer internet access in the barracks (rooms). If you go to military school to get better you are basically trying to get out of your current atmosphere so there will be no peer pressure because you won't have the freedoms you have now like speeding, drinking, etc. Find a more relaxed military school. That's my advice.

I'm not trying to change anyones mind. But think about it, the universe is not here because of evolution...scientists think that somehow there was an explosion from NOTHING and over billions of years everything fell together just right so there were stars and galaxies. Then things came together just right even more and planets formed and over the next few billion years inanimate particles somehow came together and made a LIVING organism. Then after millions more years these single cellular organisms came together just right so that they made a more complex piece of life and so on, and so forth until intelligent animals walked the earth. Then over millions of years finally human like animals appeared and finally us. Thats alot of coincidences, there's even more when you really get into all of this. Now I'm not saying all this is impossible but this crap didnt happen for no reason and with no plan to guide the process.

Kinda off topic, but whatever.

You act like humans are something really really complex...something important...
I believe in evolution...we all evolved from something...
And when we die...we just die. Thats it!
