cam gear
I was looking at some different cam gears tonight and was just wondering what you fine people's opinions are for a good one. Also if I get this, it makes a better advancing in the timing over the turned distributer (sp) right? or is that something different all together?
If anyone has an adjustable cam gear how hard was it to put in? is this even worth it or should i just stick with the turned distributer for my advanced timing |

They are two different things. Cam timing adjusts when the valves open/close.
Ignition timing changes when the spark plug fires. |

Oh, as far as how hard it is to put in: its not easy, I'd just wait till you need to have you timing belt changed and tell the mechanic to put it in then. The cam gear isnt worth it unless you get a new cam or are planning on milling the head(like i am) and yes I have a cam gear(AEM) so I do know what I'm talking about.

you have a Y8? The ZEX camshaft is pretty good for SOHC motors. |
