How do you change the rotor bottuns on the 2000 civic?
hi All,
it's time for my 30K maintenance and I was hoping that you could help me with changing the rotor buttons on my 2000 civic?. I believe the rotor button is attached to the distributor via a screw, but I could never get that screw to line up at a place where I can insert a screwdriver to unfasten it. Is there another way I can get to the screw without taking all my plugs out and rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise to get to the screw?. Thanks for your help. Andrea W |

ive never heard of a "rotor button"
but anyways, remove all plugs, remove cap, turn engine over until rotor is pointing toward #1 spark plug (TDC), and do what'cha need to do. |

Sorry, I meant to say rotor point. I got this list of to do's from the Honda dealer for a 30K miles service and it says replace rotor buttons. I guess that it meant rotor point in Honda's lingo. Thanks for the help. Andrea W.
