Correct offset and tires for 6th gen Accord sedan
Ok, all the rubbed to death talk has made me think more of this..... I am getting 18" wheels at some point. Don't bother going into detail on how I'm killing acceleration.... Anyhow, I was planning on 225/40/18, but now I'm wondering if that's right for my car? I'm probably going to be running anywhere from 1.5" to 1.75" drop F/R. Can I even run the 225/40's with the correct offset, say 42-45mm? Do I get 7.5" rims, or larger? Most of what I tend to see around are 7.5" wheels with 215/40/18....... Any help much appreciated. b |

				 | for wheels i wouldn't go wider than 7.5" or with more of an offset than +40 ... i'm really not sure about the 18"s with a drop though. hopefully someone on here has done that and can help you more than i can. as for the tires, i pulled this off of www.whalentire.com (nice prices!) - you can draw your own conclusions. sorry for the caps, it's what they used. STOCK TIRE SIZE: 195/65R15 DIAMETER: 25.0" SECTION WIDTH: 7.7" SIDEWALL HEIGHT: 5.0" MINIMUM RIM WIDTH: 5.5" MAXIMUM RIM WIDTH: 7.0" REVOLUTIONS PER MILE: 808 --------- SELECTED TIRE SIZE: 225/40R18 DIAMETER: 25.1" SECTION WIDTH: 8.9" SIDEWALL HEIGHT: 3.5" MINIMUM RIM WIDTH: 7.5" MAXIMUM RIM WIDTH: 9.0" REVOLUTIONS PER MILE: 805 IF YOU TRAVELED 60 MPH WITH THIS TIRE INSTALLED ON YOUR VEHICLE YOUR SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ 59.7 MPH -------- SELECTED TIRE SIZE: 215/40R18 DIAMETER: 24.8" SECTION WIDTH: 8.5" SIDEWALL HEIGHT: 3.4" MINIMUM RIM WIDTH: 7.0" MAXIMUM RIM WIDTH: 8.5" REVOLUTIONS PER MILE: 815 IF YOU TRAVELED 60 MPH WITH THIS TIRE INSTALLED ON YOUR VEHICLE YOUR SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ 60.5 MPH |

				 | Hmmm, a while back someone was saying he had 19" on his ride with no problems....of course that would depend more on what tire/offset he had. +40? Most people have mentioned +42, but I'm not sure if they have actually done it before.......any more Accord peeps with experience around here???? b |

				 | i think you are safe with that size. the 6th gen accords have a lot larger wheel wells.

				 | 225 40 18 is the perfect tire size, I'm considering 18's maybe 19's on my 99 coupe. Nothing looks better that bigggggggg wheels |

				 | You'd want a 7.5" wheel. Maybe a 7", but 8" is most likely too wide.
