so Max drives a truck...
cause his honda won't start.
anyways. i went out to my car to go cut my grandmothers yard and my car won't start. its been acting up a bit but it would always start. i did finally get it started about 15 minutes later and drove it the 1/4 mile to my repair dude. i guess it'll go under the knife probly tuesday or wednesday. i knew it'd be in the shop this summer for a new timing belt and eventually a few other repairs as i could afford, but if i can't start my car, im toast. so my dad has a 84 Chevy Pickup 3/4 ton that im driving... sorta. ive never driven it before tonight and so i took it for a spin so i would be more oriented to it so i could just take off in the morning late as usual (actually not really). THAT THING IS HUGE!!! hmm... well thats about all the excitement for me today. i wonder if my repairs be cheap ::rolls over magic 8 ball:: "it is unclear at this point" darnit! nothing like driving a tank after carting around in a little honda. Chris. |

Hopefully it isn't a starter problem, because you're looking at around $300 installed for a new one. What do you mean by "its been acting up a bit"?

i think he is refering to one of the distributor problems on which 4th geners are so notorious for.

ok... more detail... even though this should be in the car is mutilated forum.
it will turn over like the whine sound when its trying to start. so there's no problem w/ battery. sometimes it will almost start but its like it coughs. all the air ways are clear. it needs a major tuneup. so that could be it. hell i dunno. my repair guy replaces timing belts for about 275 with all accessories you supposed to change too. so that'll give you a scale to measure with. remember... everything is cheaper in oklahoma. |

The new ford pickups like the Ford 150 (i think) is hot. If I find me a cutie with one of those I am happy.

wtf is a fuel relay??
he said that needs to be replaced and he has to get it from the dealership... so installed that'll be about 100-115. and that will supposedly fix the starting problem. also i have a couple tiny leaks in my valve cover gasket so he's replacing that as well for 50 bucks including gasket. im going to ask him about a bigtime tune up since i don't hafta replace the timing belt since he looked at it and said it was fine. hmm... tons of fun. my car should be ready tomorrow unless i get the tune up. he's pretty quick. later. |
