Cat Converter Shield Broke
Hey all. I was putting on a Greddy SP cat-back. In the process, I chipped off part of the cat converter shield (the part where the bolt is located). I've put the shield back on, but it is only bolted on by 3 bolts, instead of 4. Now when I'm driving, I hear the shield rattling. I was wondering if there's an easy way to fix this (figured I can't use super glue). Or can I just take the cat converter shield off? Do I really need it? Thanks.

Almost the same thing happened to me cept . there was somthing IN the cat that was rattling instead of the shield..just go around looking for a new shield..or just take it off..it shouldn't get damaged....

Wouldn't the bubble gum eventually fall off, due to the heat of the cat converter? I'm thinking about just taking the shield off. That shouldn't really hurt the cat, right?

Well the bubble gum... was kinda a joke... double sided foam tape might work pretty nice... and yes I think you might have to replace the foam every two years or so.... but I would keep the sheild... mainly becuase it seres to protect the pipe.. It sits kinda low.
