2k1 civic coilovers

I was wondering if anyone may have any info on installation of coilover (sleeves...not full body) I know you need to trim the lower front spring mounting plate but is there any tricks for the rear... we put a set on & it was threaded all the way down but rode higher than stock & was almost undriveable due to harshness(the bumpstops were cut) any info would help.
