short shifter
My friend has a short shifter in his civic that he is willing to give me, I was wondering if it would fit in my 96 Accord. Thanks for any info.

Nope, it won't. Accords and Preludes only get short shift adapters. If you want one, pick up a B&M for around $60. I have one and like it.

the short shifter on a civic is not compatible with our accords... we have cable shifters and they have something else.. i forget what they are called......
but ne ways.. as for the install of a short shift kit for our cars.. it takes like 10-15 mins to put it in.... really simple.. its just a small adapter that hooks up to the shifter and then you just attach the cable onto it.... |

Very easy to install an adapter in an Accord. Take out the console and bam, you're there. 10 minutes, maybe 20 if you haven't done it before.
