Huge bouncing Idle

Ok so my buddy has a del sol. b16A3 engine. bought the car from the States and shipped it up here. It was fine...drove the car for about 3 weeks and the idle started bouncing like crazy. I figured it was his TPS sensor. So he ordered a new TB we put on the TPS sensor..and bam...the idle was worse. So we put the stock TPS sensor on and yeah..back to 1250-2000 RPM range. No CEL light. I can't figure it out..anyhelp.??

could there be a vacuum leak of somekind? spray some throttle body cleaner around the intake manifold and see if the idle changes.

Maybe the IAC valve (if Hondas have those)? TPS would've been my first guess, too...but it sounds like that's a bit cracked out. Have you tried disconnecting the mass air meter (again, if the car has one)? Sometimes if the MAF goes bad it can fuck with your idle.

Yeah, try cleaning the iac valve w/ some carb cleaner.
My car was doing that last winter and once I cleaned it out, problem solved.

if the idle is set too high the car will do that too. also check for vacum leaks too.

when i had that problem it was a vaccum leak. i'd get the vaccum diagram and make sure to check everything and not just look by eye, i didnt see my problem that way.

In all honesty. Not yet. I talked to the guy and sent him this link and some others. However I haven't had a chance to get my hands on his car yet. I don't think he has worked on it either. This week for sure I'll be working on it.

Its either the IACV or the FIT (fast idle thermostat) I had this problem when i installed my blower and a guy over on a another site showed me a way to fix it and tell if it was either one of those. If u want to know what to check hit me with a pm and ill send you the summery. ITs really easy as just as looking in your throttle bodie.
