Ran the teg tonight. Need some input!
Went up to the dragstrip tonight to see how i would do. I duno if i am that happy or not. Here is my best
reaction: .219 60ft: 2.406 330ft: 6.699 1/8 ET: 10.258 1/8 MPH: 69.03 1000 ET: 13.237 1/4 ET: 15.802 1/4 MPH: 88.39 Just take in consideration i only have a cold air intake and full exhaust and thats about it. Nothing done fuel wise yet. My header wil be here this weekend so i can get that slapped on and maybe that will help some too. But what else can i do to get this damn thing to run a little faster??

Hmmm...that e.t. sounds pretty high for (what I'm assuming is) a B series motor. There's something just not right with those times. That sounds like what you'd be pulling stock. I'd try some serious dyno tuning to see where your engine's at since it sounds like you've got a gremlin somewhere.

sorry but no way he'd pull those times on a stock b19 a/b, if it's a c then by all means. I raced a kid with a b18a, and a short ram intake and i still beat him, it was close but reguardless because i think i'm in the 16.4ish range maybe if i'm lucky.
also didn't he say he had a jackson racing supercharger?

Yes it supercharged.
As for what I would do, maybe get a different pully to up your boost a few punds like to maybe 7 and get some dyno time. I'm N/A and I run a 15.6 with no traction. I have an intake, header, exhaust, TB.

I think i need to do some stuff to my fuel. Like upgrade the pump or injectors ect. Pulley would be nice as well. I was told to retard my timing more.

The only reason you should pull timing out would be if you've got detonation. You probably just need more fuel. With 5psi I'd normally say that the stock pump and injectors should be fine, but maybe not with times like that. I still say get it dyno'ed and tune it while it's on the dyno.

Yea i think its fuel. It was sad cause they was a 93 teg running me in grudge matches with only a intake and exhaust was beating me!! But his 60ft's and reaction times were just awesome.

well...the header is a big part of s/c applications...right now youve got a bottleneck - but not enough to have that much effect, Id think.
The blower for the 18b is kinda small imo. A crv crank pulley would change the boost to 10-11 (some say 12)psi...and its a lot cheaper than a jr piece. (Youd need a belt thats 865mm then) |

Yeah...but even with more boost you're still working with a 450cc blower...it's not gonna push a ton of cfm. It'd certainly help to up the boost, but it will also effect the blower's adiabatic efficiency so the gains won't be huge unless you wanted to fab an intercooler or something like that.

are you sure that's all he had? i pulled away from a ls teg with a short ram, and i figure my 1/4 times would be in the mid 16's?

damn you got the b18 w/ a supercharger and you're only trapping at 88mph!? i'd take a look at whats wrong before slapping much more than a header on.

jdm - if you pulled on an ls teg then there was something wrong w/ it. Its faster than a D16, any day of the week as long as its in good shape and the driver isnt incapable.
A Kamikaze should really help you out...those things are massive compared to stock. Look into the water induction system jr uses...it should be good for a few more hp and definately help keep the air cooler...which really could be a large part of the problem. But, like az said....there could be something else wrong. You did do a leak/compression test beforehand, right? |

Ya i think so too. JR makes a water induction system? never seen that before. And no i never did a compresion or leakdown test

http://www.jacksonracing.com/Shop/Vi...eIndexID=33358 Go get the tests done right now...doesnt take long and shouldnt be expensive. Hopefully everything's fine w/ the motor. (You really really shouldve done this before you put the sc on) |

yea it was an older teg, and i'm willing to bet he wasn't as good of a driver either.

Well today. I took it down to my tuner and i finalyl got a fuel pressure gauge so i can se what i am pumping for fuel and he turned up the FMU a lot and it seems its getting more fuel to it now and feels a little bit faster. Friday night i am going to the local track here its a 1/4 mile and practice my reaction and 60fts

practicing isnt going to have much impact on your trap speeds, and they're what tell you how much power your making.
your trapping right at what cash was in w/ his stock b16, yet you have a bigger motor and a supercharger. somethings just weird about this, maybe i'm just expecting more from your setup or something. |
