Well...the dyno results on the turbo race engines are impresive, but the street motor looked piss poor. 200hp blown with a Motec tuneable DFI system, heads, and cam? It says that car ran an 11.9...I'd love to see the 200hp car that runs an 11.9. Maybe they meant the 1/8 mile. As for the "race" motors, they look sweet, but they don't look too workable on the street. Running 25psi and (on one motor) 10.0:1 compression would be like tossing a grenade into your engine without some seriously high octane gas. Plus the Fel Pro DFI system they used costs some pretty good $$$.

Not the A6 man. I would rather beef up a B18A/B. With the D-series DOHC, I say ZC. With the D-series SOHC, I say Z6. I still think that building up a B18A/B is the way to go. A close friend has one. Built B18A:
-Golden Eagle sleeves -Bored to 1.9 -Eagle rods -Wiseco pistons (9.8 compression) JDM GSR head: -polished exhaust port -titanium retainers -dual valve springs Turbo: -Turbonetics T3/T04e 57t 63 A/R (for now) -2.5 DP (for now) -38mm Tial WG @ 8 psi (for now) Management: -Hondata S200b base map Still on break-in period. I know that it will push big numbers after tuning and bigger turbo. It already feels crazy even at low boost. I plan to build my own too. Almost similar to that as a back up motor or drop into an EK....... |

I would do the same thing Thermal said above. B18a/b are great with boost and if u change the internals and everything it will last long. Another plus is ur car is light as fuck so it will do major damage on the street and track.

Are u thinking of the b18c1 or c5? cause me and thermal were talking about the b18a/b which are the DOHC non-vtec. and those dont run much.

imo d16 = over rated...
here are my 2 cents, if you want boost, and realiability get LS motor, bore it, get after market internals, new ignition, and boost it, it will handle a good bit... ls motors/tranny and whole set up can be found for under 2grand, thena home made turbo kit... |

There u go. THe most expensive one on there was $1200 but get a high mileage one.
http://car-part.com And search for a 1992 Acura Integra Then select the middle option which is the HB-RS,LS,GS 1.8 and it will give u a whole bunch of motors.

![]() a bored b18b is then, essentially, just a b20b/z....as said, unless you resleeve...the sleeves will crack and then youre forced to build just a plain old b18b/a is fine up to 12psi |

one guy, 2 setups>>
setup 1. b18b, to internal work. ran 13psi on it witha t3/t4. did his own computer tuning and ran a 12.7@109mph. only had one pass, he then friend a resistor in his resistor box. next run, only ran on 3 cylinders and did a 14.2@91mph had same slicks on in both setups>> setup 2. d16z6, only build pistons and rods. as to which ones i dont know. and a fully built head. ran i believe it was 20psi on it with a t3/t04e. and did a 12.6@110 was his best. he couldnt hit 2nd in the take off, he would miss, something with the dx tranny not letting hiim shift.. i dont know. so that was his best. his other times were a 13.0@104, 14.3@99 and a 19.7@64 ( dont know what heppened here) just some info to let you look at... I dont know why he took out the b18b for the d16z6. he says its cuase of funds, yet he bought pistons and ords for it, when he could have just kept the b18b in there, and bought some pistons and rods for that, and atlesat run 14psi, and gotted faster than a 12.6@110... but whatever... |

zexman's setup: d16a6 block, d16z6 head, 3/4 hard block filled water jacket w/ stock sleeves (for the street you'd resleeve instead of filling the block), crower rods, srp 9:1 pistons, ported head, zex cam, turbo, 100hp shot zex nitrous
max power: 412 max torque: 365ft/lbs fastest 1/4 in a 2290lb(w/ driver) Crx: 10.88@132.21mph b18b would be nice too though. |

speaking of engines... I went to the race track last weekend and meet some honda guys. one dude had a prelude, dont remebr the year. with intake and littel other stuff. dude couldnt get out of the high 15's.... anyways, this is what he told me...
his buddy has a si civic. (yr again i dont know) he said they put skunk 2 i believe it was cams and valve springs and retainers in there. and taking it up to 12,000rpms on stock internals ( that dont make sense). anywys, they said they managed 178whp on it, but still couldnt get into the 14's.... does that not make sense or is that just me? |

No...it's not you. 12K rpm on stock internals is even past ninja bike territory. I can't even begin to list the number of reasons that wouldn't work. Maybe with an insanely built motor, but even then I doubt you could do it.

When i was down in tulas last march, I met a guy who got his delsol motor to hit 10k rpm but it was a rebuild motor. Thing still wasnt that fast but much faster then it would be normally.

i have seen dyno's of gsr motors going to 12,000+ rpms, but nothing inside was stock. all he had was cams and valves and srings.... didnt make sense here>
and with 178whp, oyu would think it could pull high 14's or sometihng...shit, i pull mid to low 14's with less than that...( i think anyways...) |
