new vtec
I have a 91 Accord with 230,xxx miles on it and I have pretty much made up my mind on my new engine. The Accord 94-98 SOHC vtec. I know this is possible because I have seen it, but I need to know what I am going to need to do the swap. I'm pretty sure it comes close to dropping right in but I don't know. Any info would be much apreciated.

If you have the money, H22 all the way. Its 94-97 BTW (5th gen), and you won't see much of an improvement with this engine besides that it might run better.

being original i see. so your replace your old motor due to miles or for better performance? with that motor choosen you wont need to do a hole lot in the install.

well if your not going with the h23 then find a used f23 from a 98-02 it has 150hp and similiar tq ratings. Its going to be almost as good as the h23. You could probably find it for around 700 bucks or so with good mileage. That be pretty cool, reliable, powerful, modible, and easy to swap.

It be about teh same difficulty as putting in any of the other motors. The only difference is that you dont have to worry about wiring up vtec.

the H23a2 is the non-vtec lude motor from the years 92-93. the it became the the H23a1 94-96. either h series swap is going to be costly. like mentioned above the only difference is wiring the vtec.

if u want to be different look into the jdm swap for your car. what im saying is use the motor that was in the jdm accord. i looked into and found out the 6th gen sirt had the f20b which has 197 hp and 145 tq which is not much different than the h22
