Popping out the vents.
Do the vents on the 2001 civic (the ones at either end of the dash) just pop out with the use of a small screwdriver, or do you have to push them out from behind. Thanx guys.

i know that Ive tried to pop mine out (cant remember what for now....oh yeah to get to the cruise button bulb) but I couldnt pull or pry them out without damaging the dash.
Pushing out would work best if you can get your hand up there... |

ok here's what you do for the 2001+ civic....
1. get the thinnest flathead screwdriver you can find 2. either get a towel or some electrical tape and wrap it around the screwdriver head, so that the rough edges on it are not exposed. (You do not want to use a flathead by itself it puts marks in all the parts very easily) just pry under the bottom part of each vent, where it is the most sturdy. it will come out after some prying. work your way around the vent, prying each end evenly and pull it out straight. unlike the earlier model civics, these vents aren't latched down to the inner part of the dash, so nothing is there to break from prying. just dont pry hard and put marks in the vinyl, it is extremely hard to repair! |
