Question about Auto Trans. Shift Knob
Can the stock shift knob for an automatic trannie be taken off and the shifter stub be outfitted with one of those Billet E-Brake handles or something close???
I wanna get rid of that ugly ass T bone shifter. |

Kool, so how would I go about doin that? Just yank the old knob off, then route the button linkage up to the button on the new billet handle?
What I'm tryin to do is get a "Psuedo(sp?) Stick" thing goin, LoL I wanna have a straight shifter & add a shift boot to it. LoL Flame me all you want, but the originalt stuff looks like crap. |

easy stuff man, 2 screws on each side and the knob will slide off, get an aftermarket straight one and put it her on and tighten the knob. and you're set, If you're putting a boot on you take out the centre console and slide hte boot over the the stick before putting your aftermarket knob and and then just secure everything. THe boot is hte right size and will fit around the area with your P, R, D4, D3, 2. Hope that helps, I got an auto and did the same thing but I got a much nicer looking knob then those plain looking up and down ones hehehe, mine has curves.

Kool, thanks guys.
I went out to Car Boy today and got a set of Ractive polished billet aluminum E-Brake & Gear shift knobs on Christmas special for 28 bucks. Now I gotta see if I can find a shift boot & make it fit in the Auto console. |
