aem big brake
Can anyone give me a reason that the AEM big brake kit would work for a 92-95 civic ex without abs and not for a dx. I'm about to purchase them if I can get some good feedback. Thanks.

need of larger MC and BB probably
those big brake kits really arent worth the money if you want a good upgrade get integra brakes all around (dont forget the mc, bb, and prop valve though) doing that should cost the same as the aem upgrade, but you'll get fronts and rears instead of just blingin fronts |

i honestly think those "big brake kits" are a waste of money, unless you plan on heavily auto-x ing your car... unless you have a shitload of disposeable income, at most i'd get "upgraded" rotors (ie powerslot, neuspeed, brembo) and better brake pads..

just upgrade the rotors with some powerslots or if you want the best get some baer rotors. they have a lifetime warranty against warping. i can help you get some nice rotors and pads for a good deal.

I can...
dx calipers are smaller than ex's so the relocation bracket won't fit. You'd need to do a ex brake conversion then do the big brake upgrade... And then beyond that they're pointless... they don't upgrade your caliper... the just relocate it to give you bigger rotors which doesn't really do much at all for braking... I'd do like pdiggity said and go all integra brakes... it'd be a MILLION times better braking than a stock dx with the aem kit worked to fit... Also even if you're auto-xing you DO NOT want aem big brake kit... it requires the use of 17's which in itself probobly reduces your braking REDICULOUSLY... not to mention acceleration.. If you really want to spend a grand on brakes get wilwood or any of the other good companies... You'd probobly still be better off with all 4 integra brakes over just upgraded fronts..
