European VIN's
alright like i said before i'm thinking about buying a bike from europe. I have the VIN but it's completely diff than US I just found out. IF anyone knows how to check please let me know or check this: JKBZXJB173A000001
Also what kind of paperwork and stuff would I have to do to transfer title to US....crap like that? Thanks a lot |

I don't know about checking European VINs, but it shouldn't be too different than a US VIN with the exception that the country of origin will be different. Not sure which letter/digit that is, but it shouldn't be too different.

are we talking about a kawasaki ? well it's made in japan, in thelate 90's or 2000. also that vin has 17 characters, same as a us one. also i think importing something is more of a hassle if it goes like it goes for cars. stick with a bike that's already sold here

Well I just wanted to check it on some Carfax type site to see if it was real and clean and stuff.
Yeh I would love to buy the bike here but it is so cheap over there.....like saving at least 2k. I don't know what type of work is involved with bringing bikes or cars in to the US. |

for a car to bring over here you are looking at at least 1500 just for the shipping. i know one of my friends wanted to take his bike overseas and he would get charged around 900 one way, then prolly you would run into legal fees and stuff
