Can someone help me out with my new project

OK...I just bought a 1992 Honda Civic VX for $200 from some old guy out on a farm near where I live. I normally drive a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX that is pretty much all go and no show( for those of you that dont know the GSX is turrbo charged and all wheel drive...aka very very fast...ps last night I ran an 11.34). What I want is for this car to be very showy and a little ricey, but i still want it to move. The last part is where my troubles are coming from...I cant find any parts for the engine. Can someone please help me find some parts and no i dont want to spend three grand and drop a B18 in it, I want this to be my show car.

Good time on your dsm...those wedges of cheese are fast, indeed.

only way youre going to get a vx to move is to boost it (if you dont want to swap). Even na the d15z1 isnt anything of an engine...(see below)

F*** Rice...dont even bring that up...even if you want a Show car... I cant advise anything because I dont know show stuff...personally I really dislike it. Hang around and others will help.

Specs D15Z1 -
Displacement (cc): 1493
Power (bhp@rpm): 92@5500
Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 97@4500
Compression Ratio: 9.3:1
Bore (mm): 75
Stroke (mm): 84.5
Cam: sohc
OBD: 1

d16 can be had for $150 around here, boost for about 1500... i'd rather just get a b16 for around 2000 and install it myself...

yeah, I just like the idea of having something that is put together that is meant to run the way it is... I would rather have 160NA hp than 170turbo HP anyday, I just like the linear power curve... don't get me wrong, I would love to turbo the Z and plan on it years down the road, but thats just because NA has limits on streetable power...

the b16 would be = to or > 140hp to the wheels
turbo d16 would be = to or < 160 to the wheels done correctly at a small amount of boost

keyword being "small" amount of boost ,you can get like 200hp at the wheels on a stock d series engine with no problems at all on a little more boost.

i'm not even going to mention the difference in torque ratings.

Welcome DSMforLIFE! Anyway, since you said that you do not want a swap, the only way that you can add more HP to that tiny motor is to slap a some sort of Force Induction or Nitrous. If not, sell me that VX. I'll give you $300 for it

isn't that the d15 that has roller rockers???

if so that thing can be made FAST... it just takes LOTS of work.

you can also do a "mini-me" head swap...

basically you swap the d16z6 head on to the d15 block... the d15 rods are a little weaker so it won't support as much hp in the long run... but it'll give you more power...

I'd suggest looking over on honda-tech and doing LOTS of searching before asking any questions...

your engine specs are in my 1st post

you could just swap a d16z6 head onto your block, I believe the vx already has vtec so it shouldnt be that complicated...someone else wanna help me out w/ a mini-me help...ive never looked into it

Put the Apexi turbo kit on it, and throw some 15's on your car with 45 series tires. Your light, torquey car will own all!
