Farwell to my car...

God I feel like crying....yes crying. I came home late last night, a little after twelve and turned in for the night. I woke up this morning and my car was gone. I paniked. I called the police immediately. They told me to call this tow lot and see if it had been towed...no luck. I called back and they asked me to come in ASAP. I come into the station at 11:20 and made the report. I come back home at around 12 and the phone rings, its the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. My car had been found and before I got a word in he said bad news my friend...it had been completely stripped. The engine and everything under the hood, GONE. The entire interior GONE (Seats, Dash, steering wheel, everything). My bodykit, rims and tires, Shocks, etc GONE. My Alpine amplifier, Alpine Type R speakers, and the radio head (minus the faceplate because I took that off and took it in with me), GONE. He said my car was a shell as if it was the first piece on an assembly line waiting to be put together. He proceeded to tell me where to get my car and before he could finish I interupted him and said I dont want it nor do I want to see it. He ask why and I told him...My car was uninsured. I wasnt driving it. It had been parked in a driveway not more than 10 feet from my house. I wasnt planning on insuring it until I moved to South Carolina and it was set to be picked up by a car shipping company in 4 days. I feel horrible, all that time and effort and MONEY putting into that car and it was all taken away from me in one night. I have learned my lesson, I will never fix up, mod or do anything to my next car again (rest assured it will be a Honda). Its kind of a shame though, one cant personalize his/her own car and make it stand out above the rest on the road without fear of it being ripped off.

Ya I am so f**ked man. I needed that car too to commute to and from work once I get moved to South Carolina. I am moving to Charleston and my job site is about 24 miles away and I have checked public transportation and no bus gets close to where I work. I would still have to walk for about 15-20 min... I am so financial strapped now...

I feel so sorry for you and for all the other integra owners out there. I've read countless posts on many sites about people getting their integras stolen and finding them stripped of everything. I don't even have words to describe how sorry I feel for you..

when I finally start doing my car, it will live in a fortified and alarmed garage. my car will have both the autolock, dual fuel cutoff switches, and no stereo. anything ripoffable will be run stealth or taken in with me.

Its a sad world we're living in. It's also and interesting loop we've developed: buy import parts on ebay, put them on our car, get them ripped off, somebody else buys the same parts on ebay, gets them ripped off, back to ebay, etc.

sometimes i feel like I want the armor shields from the Batmobile on my car.

Holy shit that sucks man. The trick is to get a car that no one thinks will pull in a good stripping fee. My roommate has had 3 (yes, 3) Monte Carlo SS's stolen. Now he drives a Crown Vic and no problems. Just be glad you don't drive a full sized box-body Chevy. I used to work with a guy who drove a late-'80s Caprice that got stolen while it was next to my Mustang. My doors were unlocked and you don't need a key to start the Mustang and HIS car got stolen. They later found it with bald tires, a huge dent in the floorboard (an upward dent), and the backseat was full of fried chicken buckets. F@ck thieves...they're just too lazy to work for the things they want

On a side note, that's just another reason that California should fall into the ocean.

autolock can be defeated just like EVERY other anti-theft devise...

I know that doesn't matter in SOME cases but in a complete strip like happened here... they're professionals... there's just about no stopping pro's... they find a car and check it out good before sometimes deciding to get keys made... sometimes deciding to tow... etc etc... they'll get it.

Sorry to hear that though...

You can still mod your next car... just keep it under the hood and don't talk about it or show it off...

Body kits wheels and lowering springs are an open invite to thieves...

All thieves should be shot on sight, no questions, just two in the back of the head!! I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you can get back on your feet soon, good luck.

ya know what, we all know it, but I'll say it:

if someone wants your car or parts from you car. They WILL get them. No alarm, security device, missing steering wheel or ANYTHING will stop them. if they want it, they WILL find a way. There is pretty much NO WAY around getting a vehicle stolen. I know like most of you guys, i too feel safer with an alarm, but still. ALarms aren't THAT hard to disable. But all in all, thieves are dirty nasty lil mutha f*ckas and should be hanged.!
