Fuxored a bolt, need help.

Was doing rear disk swap. One of the bolts won't unbolt, it just spins freely.

What can I do?

can you grab the head with some vise-grips and pull it out?

^right...that might help

Can you tell if there is a nut on the other end of it? Is the body of the part your removing threaded?

It's the bolt that holds the trailing arm up to the car. One bolt is completely stuck and the other hole mis threaded. It's the only bolts that go straight up.

just get a torch and warm up the bolts. they should come out. make sure you don't burn yourself or the car.

^yeah...thats about the only thing I can think of at the moment that might work...

Worst thing is that the nut thats welded up in the chassis came off the welds...if there is a nut...it could be threaded all the way up (im not sure)...but that seems unlikely becuase of whats happening.

Try using some vise grips (get a really good hold on it) and pull down WHILE turning it...that may hold the nut from spinning, thats up in there (again, if there is a nut)

or if its possible get a rotary cutter and cut the head off. bang or drill the shaft through and re tap the hole if necessary. that's probably a last resort option though. Although I will say that drilling into bolts does work, I've done it many times.

^Ive only had 1 success with that...a 1/5 success rating isnt to good imo. Each time I got broken exractors instead...but I was using small extractors.

I think I'm gonna cut the botl, drill the hole out, tow the car to a shop and have them weld in a stud, then I'll just NUT the trailing arm to that.

What do yall think?

LOL, I said " I'll just NUT..."

nope. It's in this cavity that you can tell is sealed on all sides. Spent about 3 hours brain storming on how i was gonna get my self out of this mess.

You think if I didn't have that piece bolted and rolled the car onto a flat bed tow truck, think that'd be a problem?

I'll rip that apart just to double check but I'm 95% sure that it's sealed.
