A I R B O R N ! ! !
Just wondering who's gotten their car airborn yet?
Was driving down in Long Beach. Comiong around a corner at about 80 with a chick in a Toyota trying to keep up with me, no idea why she was racing me. Noticed a drop in the road for a storm drain type of run off. Steared into it with the whole car so that just one of the sides wouldn't bottom out. Hit the drop, entire car went down, hit the other side of it, got A I R B O R N.... That's the first time I've done that. Although it completey sucked for that car, and my head hitting the roof, it was fun as could be. Heart was racing afterwards. Should have seen the look on the chicks face. Mind you this was in a turn at 80 and I didn't even lose control.

there are 3 or 4 spots in my home town that I got airborn on often...
with this said... there's just about nothing dumber to do... you have NO control of your car when it's not in contact with the road... and the slightest presence of sand, water, leaves etc etc etc... WILL cause you to loose control on landing and most likely cause your death... There was a thread a while ago that had a video that some genius decided to make of his buddy getting airborn over some hump on a straight road... he flipped and died. It's not smart at all... thank god (or whatever) that you're still alive and spend the rest of your days dedicated to staying ground bound.

theres a bridge near here that does that. Straight line. Its really fun when your borthers g/f is in the back with no seatbelt on. RAcing harness keeps me planted while she complains.

My undercarriage shows the scars of being airborne. In fact, I'm suprised my airbags haven't gone off as a result of this one flight I took. I had to pick up my brother from his old job, and there was this narrow 1-lane dirt access road. So, I drive down it, no big deal... On the way back, I FLY down it. Well, the part where the road was washed out snuck up on me. I hit so hard on the front and rebounded, the car must have been at a 45 degree angle skyward. My seatbelt came undone and my CD player got jolted out.
There's been a few other times, mainly by my own fault... ramping behind Winn Dixie, going across intersections insanely fast, etc. etc. etc. Anyway, now it's time to buy headers, and I can't decide if I should go Stainless Steel or Ceramic. Ceramic are just as good (for my application) and $150 cheaper, but I'm afraid to crack them. -Ducky

there is a set of rr tracks in my home town that you could jump doing 20... it was bad... everyone was smart enough to not go fast at all over them.... EXCEPT this dude's little brother...
The kid hit the tracks at like 45 (they're a huge bump then the road goes steep up hill)... jumps the tracks and lands into the hill so hard that he sends his starter motor THROUGH the block... it was rediculous... Another good one was a kid up in VT... had a chevette that he intended on jumping over a set of tracks but the tracks themselves were raised too high and caught his tires/susp. on them... the car flew/slid 100ft or so with the front tires and half the suspension still on the tracks...

FYI, wasn't done on purpose. Steered into it to keep only one side from from bottoming out. I had a bad experience with getting airborn when i was young. I don't fux around with that, too dangerous.

I know I'm behind on this discussion but one time I was skipping a class (
![]() So I look over at my girlfriend with this wicked grin of mine, resulting in her tugging on ther seatbelt. not more than a few feet away from it now just after an intersection I drop two gears and go flying over this thing at 50 or so, both in the back fly forward into the front seats then back, in the process hitting their heads, lol I know it was dumb but it was sure funny when they were all quiet and dumbfounded. it feels like you're in a fast fast elevator..I like it in fact there was an article on the funness factor of the hill in the local newspaper lol. |
