Accord98LX lives on the big island :D

I visited with the family for Christmas quite a few years ago. I remember North Shore was pretty damn tight. Really neat surf shops and powerful water (even though I was scuba certified and in the water quite a bit each week, I still had problems with it. Then again, I was like 12 :D) Also, take lots and lots of money, EVERYTHING in Hawaii is expensive.

I was born and raised in Hawaii, Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. I was just out there 3 weeks ago for vacation, little sister was graduating high school.

Maui is a place to go and just do nothing..... nothing....

The hole idea there is to wake up in the morn, goto the beach, have lunch somewhere local, back to the beach, have dinner somewhere local, back to the hotel, repeat previous steps for the week.

I live on maui and there not that much compaired to Honolulu. But it is cleaner and less crowded then Honolulu. We Have clear water beaches...waves that will throw you 10 feet back. You can visit the moutains for some sight seeing. You can go mountain bikeriding...snorkel to a little island off the coast of maui. Theres also whale watching..the humpbacks but Im not sure if the humpbacks are on maui yet?!

You cant forget shopping but everything here is not cheap. I live here and its boring.

Rakugaki,

You can take United Airlines than Hawaiian Airlines to Maul. Cuz they have a PTV on the plane of 767-300ER or 777-200ER.

I never been go to Hawaii or Maul

I really want to go to Maul in 2 yrs ago, but my father didn't want to go too far.

I hopefully to going to Hawaii or Maul on the future for vacation.

Wow, real Hawaii people. I'm headed there in a couple months for vacation - planning on 2 days on Hawaii (to see the volcanoes) then 5 days on Kauai (to sleep). Any other suggestions for things to be sure to see, do or avoid?

I live in Kahului. Thats where your airplane is going to land and thats also where the major shopping centers are. Its a 15-30 minute drive to kihei from the airport.

Theres a starbucks 2-3 minutes away from the airport. But since your new here..and you might get lost (like all the other tourist..) it'll probably take you 10 minutes. Its in a shopping center called "Maui Marketplace"...If you see a Lowes Home Center or Officemax...then your're at the right place. Im not sure if theres any starbacks in Kihei though. If you want to go to the beach...Kihei is where you want to go...dont you ever go to Kahului beachs....you'll kno why after you see it..lol. You might want to visit Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center at night and drive around the parking lot. Theres a lot of ricey cars or nice cars SOMETIMES if your lucky in the parking lots.

Since your're going to be in Kihei...theres also a drag raceway down there called "Maui Raceway" ... Im not sure on the schedule but its open like on fridays or saturdays once or month or something like that. You can check that out.

Btw .. If you were here like 2-3 weeks earlier..you could have seen the carshow. Tila Nguyen was there..Dunno if you guys know her but she doesnt look that great in real life...IMO.

I used to live in Hawaii for like 5 yrs when I was younger. My dad was in the service. We lived on Schofield Barracks on Oahu. It was probably about a 30-40 min drive to Honolulu. But since i was just a kid, I really didn't know much about the partyin there and stuff. Never got a chance to go to Maui, but I plan on getting there before I turn 30.....so I really can't tell you anything to do there except for lay out on the beach...that's what i'd be doing!
