Transmission Flush & Fill

My automatic transmission was shifting real hard from 1st to 2nd and was acting really stipid,

so I was going to get it flushed and filled until the dealership told me absolutly not. It is strongly recomended that on accord transmissions that you DO NOT have them flushed, ie; machine hooked up,and cycles fluid through to clean it. Apparently the solution used to flush contains detergents such as dextron, and mercon, that will deteriate the seals in the transmission.

It cost me half the price at the dealership to just drain the old fluid and fill it back up, and the trany shifts like a dream now.

Also, the guy at Valvoline who was going to do the flush and fill was real honest with me and said that the Honda transmission fluid is far superior to what they would have used.

hmm my dealership told me that i need to flush the tranny, but i never got to it doing it by the machine. i just drive the car in every gear to redline on jackstands then i release the drain plug. you'd be amazed how much xrap gets out, and if u don't do that the fluid looks like it can go back in.
