accord or sewing machine

My 94 accord is starting to have a ticking sound at idel. I have 144,000mi, but i do use maxlife oil. What can be done to reduce this. Is it time for plugs & wires?

Thanks, & there is no smoke. This thing runs awsome, it just sounds like a sewing machine @ idel.
