DIY interior, tell me what u think....
so the legacy of my custom interior has begun. i so far have done most of the basic panel painting as you can see in the pic. i still have to do the center upper console and the steering wheel. it was a pretty simple but tedeous process that was fun to do over the weekend. although it leaves the car smelling like paint for a month, the after effects are well worth it for that custom, sportier look inside look. future mods include blue/black racing seats with 2 point harnesses, custom blue/black vinyl on the roof portion of the interior, and im going to get the speaker grilles in the back cut out to expose the oh so sexy blue/chrome alpine speakers. street glow is going in next week. under dash and under seat.

very nice. i am impressed in the amount of things you painted. I really like the shifter bezel trimmed in the blue. Also the rear panels...very "balls out" no holds barred...I like it a lot

thanks. i used plasti-kote5014 datsun blue. the exterior of the car is silver.once i get body kit, and all the other crap i wil repaint the car to match the interior. soits blue.
jamie, yea removing the center console is pretty darn easy. but removing the screws that hold it in are a pain in the butt hole. il post how to do it sometime. i stil have a few more panels to paint. and yes, i removed all the parts i painted.its suprisingly very very easy at least for the new civics. al you need is some patience and a flathead screwdriver. most of the panels pop right off just be sure to sand all the pieces down. start with 300 and go higher as you paint. if you dont sand the pieces down you get a grainy non reflective look. i had to redo some panels because i didnt sand enough. no big deal. the paint i used is availableat any store that carries plasti-kote paint. pep boys carries abuttload of that stuff. more pics soon once i get done with the lighting pretty soon im getting reverse indiglo gauges.and im working on changing the LEDs on the button console board so that they are al blue. almost done with that. |

I'd never paint my car, as I don't personally like the look, but it looks like you did a good job. That paint is a really unique color that will make your car stand out.

I started off doing the same thing in my car. Painting the peices blue and then waiting for my body kit and then painting outside blue to match the interior. I ended up screwing myself. It would end up costing me WAY too much in the end for all of that. I decided to stick with my original car color (black) and just had the body kit pieces painted (A LOT cheaper). I am still waiting for Honda to get in the replacement peices in so I can get rid of the ugly blue! It was a nice idea...at first.
