He wants to run around 8 to 10 psi ! I want to know how much psi can a stock type R engine handle SAFELY?
coz if he is going into engine internals, it will cost him alot !
which brand has a good kit for around 10 psi?? HKS?? greddy??
if he is running 10 psi, he will also need a intercooler, right???

One thing he could do to make himself a little safer is a thicker head casket..

Yes he will need a IC.

10 psi with the GReddy kit will handle just fine. it depends on how far your friend is gonna take it. is he concern about smog legality? if not, REVHARD or DRAG kit is the way to go. thicker head gasket and a few other tricks will keep his engine safe. i think the Meguiar's twin charged typeR was pushing 24 psi on STOCK. boosted3g specializes on b18 engines. he can hook u up on this one...........

Sincehe already has the higher compression jsut lower the boost a little and tune carefully. High compression and boost is a beautiful thing. You can basically build an all-motor car but throw boost at it. The only thing you will want to watch is the opening of the intake valve. The later the intake valves open the better. So stay high compression and tune properly. I have seen high compression motors with 9 psi go over 300 whp.

FYI during my buildup i chose 10.5:1 pistons and im planning on running nearly 30 psi

this goes for an accord: f22a1, i don't know if the head is going to take it but anyaway i was thinking about boring the cylinders like .020 for uniformity, then throw at it some arias 11:1 cr pistons, and the rings for turbo then use a copper head gasket and finally comes the turbo. Do u think is duable ? Am i gonna have any problems with the crank ? What other modifications do i need to do to it ? All i want is be in the neigborhood of 250 whp.

Scrap the copper head gasket and use a stock one or at least a Cometic one from Race Engineering . www.raceeng.com . If your only looking for 250 whp youll need very little boost with that motor and compresssion.

why am i looking for very little boost since my engine makes 12h hp ? Shouldn't that be like 15psi ? And what is wrong with the copper gasket ? Just asking. How much am i looking to increase the power with 11:1 cr ?
