I'm takin' bets

Alright...who wants in on this? I'm having my car dyno'ed on Wednesday. Who wants to make guesses on how much power I'll pull? For a point of reference, with the relatively poor tuning set to "kill" and running relatively low boost (12#'s) I made just over 550hp. The new tuning will be with a new (better) blow off valve, 18#'s of boost, and tuning by a professional. Let's hear it.

And the results are in!

Can I get a drum roll? Well...bad news is that we were all wrong...even me. Good news is that it made (at the rear wheels) 657hp. Damn, that blew my mind. Turns out that the last pull I made (a few months ago) was most likely done on 7 cylinders. We found out one of the plug wires had come out of the loom and fried clean through on the header. I'm going to assume this happened after sliding sideways through in intersection at about 50mph while trying avoid a dog in the road. After replacing the plugs, wires, blow off valve, and tuning (all of which seemed to take forever) we made 3 pulls and all were above 645hp, but the best out to 657hp. Now who want to take bets on when I'll die in this thing doing something insanely stupid? Hehe.

I appreciate that...but I'm just f@ckin around. I've learned my lesson about being stupid while driving. At a drag strip a few years ago I was driving someone else's car and held a wheelie a little too long and ended up rolling the car. Lucky for me the car had a 10 point cage and a 5 point harness. On top of that the guy had the car insured for more than it was worth. But hey...what are drag strips for if not for cheating death?
