Cold Air Intake
Ok, i really really want to buy some mods for my car and i'm not sure if i should go for a AEM cold air intake or for headers first? What would be the best buy and have the most noticable advantages..please help me on this! Thanks alot.

CAI definately has a more noticable gain....plus you get an extremely awesome sound from the engine compartment. Gains from headers are minimal. I got GReddy cat-back exhaust, then AEM CAI. After I drop my ride I'll get a header.

i'd go CAI first. after i had it installed i noticed better pick up on my car, plus the gas yardage went to gas mileage(from 22mpg to 28 mpg) and i have a heavy foot.

Not to mention the CAI is generally a simple install you can do yourself. Headers will require paying someone else, or at least for most people it will, to get them installed.

umm headers seem simpler than my CAI install. it does not require a lot of brains but they require some muscle if u are a afraid to warm them up a bit before uninstalling them. you don't need them hot just to the point where they become untoucheable, so they will unscrew easier

What was so bad about your CAI install? Did you have to cut?
I guess I was wrong about the headers....I always figured headers would require a shop to do the work, but I guess it is just a few bolts here and there. b |
