Does this happen to anyone else?

The other night I went out to a bar with some friends, and of course being summer and all, you're bound to run into people you graduated with or went to school with. Not only did I see many fellow classmates, but also my ex (may I add, my first love and longest relationship) and his friends. I haven't seen him in almost a year, so I've gotten pretty good at trying to forget him, but wouldn't you know, as soon as I saw him, all those feelings I've been trying to forget came rushing right back! Darn him! Now I can't stop thinking about him! Has this ever happend to anyone else?

yes this has happened to me, well only with my last girlfriend. But i wouldn't say it was good feelings.

what worked for me was a lot of driving, some biking and hitting on other girls (in your case try hitting on guys).

Nothing helps you get over your first love like the second.

True, but it doens't help when you compare every guy to your first love! Although, I'm getting much better with that. Just haven't met the right "second" yet.

Hey Whiteclipse99

I've went through this numerous times. The thing is to be civil. Don't do anything tha tmight be resentful later on. When you become civil with that person yuou will accept the fact that it'ws over. You will always have feelings for that person just don't fall into the heart trap. This can really confuse you and put a huge burden on getting over him. Being a guy, he probably tryed to play all cool...like he's happy and egverything...but really he's going throught the same thing

That would make me feel so much better if I knew he was going through the same thing! But I guess I'll never know.

Yeah, I tried that, but then I end up flirting with all his friends!

bottom line....life sucks first loves are definetly the biggest speedbumps on the road of life....once the front wheels are over them you pray that you dont scrape before you can get the back wheels over them (you tell yourself its gunna be ok....your gunna make it) and then you slow down just enough and hope beyond hope you dont hear that exhaust scrape....but then once yer over it ya dont look back....you just look ahead to the next one and again hope for the best! haha hope that helps cause for some reason i lost myself and i think im more confused than ever....regardless....first loves are just hard to get over and if someone found a simple solution they could write a book and make millions because you just cant turn feelings on and off like a faucet....you gotta keep drivin and take the bumps as they come....slow and carefull like and try not to let your lowered car get hurt along the way....because without a doubt there will be more bumps for you somewhere down the line so take the experiences gained from this one and apply them to the next one which will hopefully be easier!

I'm trying though. It's a slow process, but I think I'm making some progress. No boyfriend as of yet, but no need to rush. If it happens it happens.
